These pens are economically priced, but stop working very quickly! There appears to be copious amounts of ink visible in the barrel, but the pens just quit writing. In other words...they really suck! Will not purchase anymore.

The look and feel of this pen is great but its very "picky" about what it wants to work on. for instance: If you are using a pad of paper the dents created by writing on the top sheet will cause the pen to "skip" on the following page, also if your writing on thin paper (ie carbon-less multi copy forms) it wont write. The Ball/Ink is just far to finicky about when it will actually leave a mark.

Bottom line:
Pen works well enough if your writing on a "normal" single sheet of paper on a hard surface, but forget about using it on legal pads or multi-part forms.

I got this box because of its price but was not really satisfied. I won't be getting any more Zebras because I found their flow inconsistent and their barrels not very durable. The fact is if you're looking for cheap pens for a public setting then they're up to the job, but if it's something you're planning on using on a daily basis you can do better. I now take care of my pens much more than I did in the past as a way of getting around the cumulative expense of having to purchase them continuously.

I bought a large package of these pens in early 2010. I stored the ones we weren't using in our desk supplies. When I needed a new one this weekend, I pulled one out and couldn't get it to write. So, thinking that I should have stored them upright, I put the pens in a mug on my desk. Two days later, none will write. They all look as if there is plenty of ink as another reviewer stated. What a complete waste of money. I will be throwing away 7 of these.

Everything is great about these pens, except for what really matters -- the ink supply. The pen description notes quick drying ink, which unfortunately must pertain to the ink still in the pen because you will not see the level of the ink go down (ever), until one day (only weeks later) the pen will stop writing. The other features of the pen are quite good. The pen is comfortable to use, the ink is very smooth with writing, the tip retracts reliably, and the clear chamber to follow the ink use is nice (if it actually represented ink being used). Unfortunately, the lack of much usable ink in this product gives it such a short lifespan, that it is not worth the 30 cent cost per pen. Moreover, it's not beneficial to anyone to fill our trash with old pens.

First of all, for those cheap reviewers who say "Don't Waste Your Hard-Earned $", come on guys it's 3.95$ with amazon prime, less than what you would spend of a taco or big mac.. You get 12 pens for a reasonable price, that obviously have some pro's and cons. The soft rubber grip is really good as well as the visible ink supply that lets you see when your pen is about to turn dry and die. On the other hand, they state it has a "quick drying ink" and i found that in many situations i've had ink smudges on my papers due to wet ink or some excessive realease of ink. Overall, i still use them and they've pretty much worked great (except 1 of the 12 pens that died considerably soon after 2 days of use). If you're not a pro in need of a Parker pen, i would recommend this product to you cause it fits its low price

*update* first pens worked fairly good.. most of the others just got dry or something like that, cause i still see ink inside of them but most of them won't write.. i've kept them in a cool place, not exposed to sunlight (just in case anyone thought that was the problem) but still they dried out.. too bad cause them look great and are extremely comfortable on your hand..

I happened to end up with one of these pens, and I liked it so much that I had to order a box.

I'm tired of reaching for a pen at home, only to get one that won't write right away or leaves blobs of ink. These pens begin writing instantly and smoothly.

The other reviewer is correct about the point size--it's more like a fine point than a medium. But that just keeps the writing crisp, with no blobs.

After using these for some time, I have to downgrade my original rating from 5 stars to 3. They are still a good deal for the money, but a lot of the pens will stop writing with a lot of ink left. No ink blobs, but the trade-off is that they might not work at all after awhile.

I hate these pens. I spend most of my time drawing circles with the pen until I can see some signs of ink. These pens do not write on any type of paper. You will spend most of your time tapping the pen to draw ink or shall I say blood. You will be better off writing with the blood from your finger verses with these pens. Good luck.

If you just want an inexpensive pen, you're better off going to the bank or grocery store and swiping their courtesy pens. These pens write about 20% of the time and the writing is spotty and inconsistent when they do - making anything you write illegible to anybody (yourself included. I've tried every pen in the pack, and they all write the same way. You do get lucky once in a while and get it to write two or three sentences consistently, but you also have time where it won't write at all for a long time! I even contacted the company to get a replacement (in case it was just a bad batch), explained what was happening, and got the following response:
"Thank you for your feedback. Have a nice day."

Wow.

We had these in our store, but enough customers tried to write a check, sign a credit card slip or make a note of something on our business cards and almost never got a working pen, so we took them out and made a note to avoid Zebra pens at all costs. The ~$.50 we paid for each pen was about a dollar too much (my math isn't off there - they're bad enough to say we should have been paid to have them in our store. Avoid these pens and save yourself the frustration of a bad pen and poor customer service. Yikes.

I bought a pack of these pens because I thought it would be cheaper in the long run... Not at all. I have gone through more than 1/2 the pack in a few months! The pens just stop writing and in all of my experiences, right in the middle of class! And it is not because I ran out of ink. At first I thought I had the lemon of the pack, but as it turns out, they are all lemons. I have always used Zebra pens, but no more. Back to Papermate..
