5.0 out of 5 stars I love it
I think this CD is quite intense. I love to listen to it almost every night since I got it. The minimalistic combination of "loops" and solos really fit together. It is complex but makes you listen to something outstanding, quite different from his boring newer albums. This is by far one of the best of his soundtracks together with "The cook, the thief, the wife and her...

3.0 out of 5 stars Mild Decay
Probably the least of the Nyman / Greenaway scores, this is essentially a set of variations of two main themes. It features some of the most incredibly high-speed fiddle-playing ever, and is utterly, utterly strange (sounding like demented fairground music gone wrong), but there just isn't enough material to sustain a complete album.

5.0 out of 5 stars High level inspiration !, October 28, 2004
This review is from: Zed & Two Noughts (Audio CD)
Nyman is a heavy weight punch composer . In this case he made this work based in the film of the same name of Peter GreenawAY.
The minimalist style and the new musical ideas will convince you from the first time you listen it .
But I recommend you watch the film (See my review) and then acquire this CD.

Granted, there are bits and pieces of other favorites floating around in here, but as a whole I really hated it. I'm a devoted Nyman fan, but this is simply not his best work.
