I purchased this charger because I have a digital camera that is a high drain device and only runs on alkaline or rechargeable batteries. A weak battery will not turn the camera on (even if the battery works in other devices).

Charger arrived quickly. Doesn't come with a manual, but has basic instructions on package. Package says only charge Ni-MH batteries. Came with three adapters (i.e., car, computer USB, and wall). This made it worth the price I paid. The display has a picture for each battery compartment and similar to the way a cell phone shows signal strength, the charger uses bars to show how much charge the battery has. The LCD display of each battery flashes several times and eventually pauses to show the current level of charge. You can charge 1, 2, 3 or 4 batteries at once.

After an initial 3 hour charge, I removed the batteries. Then the next morning I put one in a Walkman that will run off of one regular AA battery for a month. The Walkman showed a fully charged battery. When I finished a 2½ hour hike, the Walkman showed a half charged battery. I wasn't sure if the battery was initially fully charged, or had lost some of the charge overnight, or was just not very good. The package says you need to put the batteries through 2-3 charging cycles before they operate at optimum capacity. A couple of days later I bought a wireless computer mouse that came with a rechargeable battery and its own charger. The mouse battery needed charging; so, I decided to use the Zeikos charger (instead of the mouse's charger). The Zeikos charger fully charged the mouse's battery in a little over an hour and lasted over a week without the mouse indicating it needed a new charge. So, I knew the Zeikos charger worked and all of the accessories were a bonus.

Final test was to use the Zeikos batteries in my camera. Once a week I go to my local zoo and walk around for about 1½ hours taking pictures. Two fully charged alkaline batteries will power the camera for two or more trips to the zoo with no problems. So, I placed two freshly charged Zeikos batteries in the 12 MP camera and they lasted throughout my 1½ hour zoo trip. I took 53 pictures and was happy that the camera's low battery warning never came on. When I got home, the Zeikos charger was showing the two batteries were low and needed charging. So, here's my personal verdict. The charger and the accessories are worth the low price. The batteries are not the greatest, but they will work (especially, when freshly charged) and I consider them extra.

The charger works fine but takes a lot longer than 1 hour to charge the batteries. When I first received the charger and 4 NiMh batteries the batteries should have been pre-charged and at about 80%, they were not. I plugged in the charger and put in the batteries, checked back in about an hour and they were not even half way charged. I checked them occasionally and it was well over four hours before the indicators showed the cells as fully charged.

Charger & Cells work OK but charging is extremely slow and not as advertised. I do have another 1 hour charger that actually fully charges AA and AAA cells in the one hour time frame.

Finally got to measure it. Less than an hour at little less than 1A. Nowhere near stated capcity.
