I have had two of these float style wrist straps, the first being the Olympus brand, the second being the Zeikos brand. I sold the first camera with strap and all to upgrade, and made sure to get a strap with the 2nd. Having the choice i figured i would save a little money and opted for the less expensive model Zeikos offers rather then go back wit the Olympus one. It was fine at first, but once i started using it, and actually needed it to perform it quickly gave me nothing but headaches. First it was disconnecting on its own, being on the boat, its always in my pocket or sitting down the front of my coveralls, and often it seemed to disconnect at the slightest tension in the wrong direction. Even more so on a rough day out on the water it would always leave me looking and digging in my pockets rather then staying at arms reach. Second, the easy connector itself has now broken. The plastic is very cheaply made, ive seen better stuff on happy meal toys.. and with it broken now i dont feel as safe to take it on the boat anymore. which is wheres its needed most to do what i bought it for. I dont blame the seller, after all they are offering a cheap alternative to a more expensive product, i just wish i would of spent the extra money, rather then having to spend twice as much ordering two of them.

Nice but quick disconnect a little too quick,

The strap seems well made overall. Even though the part that attaches to the camera looked thin it took a lot of pull without breaking or letting go.
However, when I hit one side of the the quick release clip very lightly while the strap was under tension it let go - too easily for my comfort level. I can see having the strap is under tension and accidentally putting pressure on one side of the quick release, like when draped over a hand railing, and losing the camera. I plan to use it but I will loop the standard camera wrist strap through the float's main strap and forget the quick disconnect. I downgraded my rating significantly because of the lack of a secure quick disconnect.

I bought this camera strap for my Lumix DMC - TS1. We took our kayaks out on the Columbia River today to try it out. It works! We put our camera in the water and the strap floated and was able to support the full weight of the camera. The orange color makes it easy to see. The loop is adjustable and there is a quick release mechanism if you want to detach the strap from the camera. The quick release mechanism seems fairly secure and unlikely to unexpectedly release itself. Overall, I was happy with the price and performance of this product.

IMPORTANT!!! Modification for strap attachment!!!,

The clip MUST be modified as follows:
With a sharp knife, shave 1 mm off of the two ends of the male attachment so they will fully lock into the female part of the clip. The strap now deserves 5 stars; without this treatment, it rates ZERO stars.

This strap is a piece of crap. The cord which attaches to the camera popped out of the strap with a slight tug. Glad I didn't have my camera on there or I might have had an unintentional shock proof test. Not worth the money Better to buy a piece of foam and attach a cord to it yourself. Well, they win they got this fools money.

I assembled this contraption. Put it around my wrist and stepped into the water and my camera sank to the bottom of the ocean and my strap stayed firmly attached to my wrist. My guide luckily was able to retrieve my camera. Unfortunately I had not brought the wrist strap that came with the camera with me, so I spent my day in the water clutching my camera in my hand, hoping not to lose my camera again. When I returned home I fussed with the cheap plastic gadget that attaches the camera to the wrist strap and could never make it hold. Even if the hold mechanism worked, I would not buy this again because the floating device is twice as big as my wrist and there is no way to tighten it, so my hand would easily slip through. So this neat idea was a near disaster and I probably invalidated my water proof warranty on my camera by sending it too deep to the ocean floor.

With just a slight pull the connector immediately disconnects. Flexing the connector flanges does not fix the issue. I plan to find a way to connect the camera directly to the string...the connector would only ensure loss of your expensive new camera. Very disappointing, yet for seven dollars not worh the effort to return. Wish i had avoided this product.

quick release connector makes this strap junk/useless,

The quick release connector on this strap makes this floating strap useless. It is so flimsy, and comes apart so easily, that your camera could easily disconnect and sink to the bottom. After seeing how easily it pulled apart, I could not trust it while snorkeling in st. thomas VI last week, and wore the regular strap on my panasonic TS1 as a backup, as I just couldn't trust it. This was a waste of money, and I will likely toss it in the trash. I will never trust it to hold any underwater camera worth several hundred dollars.

I to not recommend this item. I lost my camera in the Caribbean sea while snorkling when the plastic quick connect/release clip came undone while I was swimming in a current.
