Zeikos ZE-HC36 Medium Hard Case

I was a little reluctant at first to buy this, because most of these type of cases are cheap and flimsy, but I must say, I was pleasently surprised. This case has nice corners and strong side panels. The latches hold strong, and the handle, allthough plastic, fits well into the hand. The colors of this case are also very pleasing to the eye. The combination of chrome, dark grey, and light grey really make it look like a high end equipment case. As for the interior, it is also well done. The pick and pluck foam insert is easy to work with, and easily customizes to any size or shape. I made a mistake when doing mine, and made one space a little too big, but I was easily able to make it the right size again by taking some of the used smaller peices and gluing them back together with standard rubber cement. Be sure to save all your plucked foam until you are happy with the final placement of all your equipment! The lid stays upright when open, which most cases do not. Overall the is a great case for the money, and shipping was very fast! I highly suggest getting one of these if you're on a budget.

Even with shipping included this Zeikos ZE-HC36 Medium Hard Case came out to $36.44 which is much less than the comparable size of the major name brand. My thinking was that this would appear cheap & probably show signs of use after the slightest bumps & bruises but "who cares". I wasn't buying it to show it off. I was buying it to protect a camcorder, shotgun microphone, lens & various other items anyone of which cost considerably more than the case.

It wasn't made to survive a combat zone but I was a little surprised to find the build quality is better than I expected. This thing costs marginally more than a decent softbag. The difference being that if either were to fall off of a table or bang against a door jam you might seriously damage anything in a softbag. On the other hand the Zeikos may get marred or scuffed up but what's in it will be protected & that's all that really counts for me. The upside is that if I make even the slightest effort to take care of this case, what's in it will never suffer any damage.

The size is big enough to hold everything I needed except the tripod & I already have a bag for that. I have not cut the foam insert yet as I'm still waiting for the 4x ZOOM lens. Once I have everything I want to store in the case I will lay it out & it will be a breeze to set up form fitting spaces for each item as the foam is pre-cut.

I bought this case from an Amazon affiliate, "Electronics Club" & they sent me an E-mail saying it would be shipped on September 11th. They must have used a time warp to ship it because I received on September 9th. Over-all I'm real happy I could spend less than $50 for the piece of mind that I could protect over a $1,500 worth of sensitive & fragile camcorder & accessories.

If you're looking for a hard case that won't cost an arm & a leg, this is it.

I love this case. It has the room I need for my camera, and other items. I will say that my one draw back is cutting the foam to fit my camera and the other items. But it holds everything in it's place with no problems. I will be buying another one soon.

Based on the reviews (and the price), I knew when I ordered this that I was not getting a top quality case; however, it was a little more flimsy than I expected. One of the latches separated immediately and I had to press it back together with a pair of pliers. That said, I still think it's an okay value, and it will suit my needs just fine (which is a case to store my lenses and carry them with me in the car). I would not recommend this case for use in any extreme environments or to be used as checked baggage.

It is a nice case for the money. I accurately suspected the locking mechanisms on the latches would be lacking and cheap, and that is probably my biggest disappointment. The keys look and function as if they go to child's toy safe. With some effort, I suppose I could install a better, secondary locking mechansim, but it's somewhat secure for now. However, I would not trust these integrated locks for securing a firearm, critical documents or anything that requires high security. Overall the case is very decent for the price paid, and I don't regret the purchase. The inside removable foam is of very nice quality, and not crumbly, and the case is very roomy for it's advertised measurements.

I was unsure which case would perform well for my gear. Some cases I have found are cost prohibitive and too thin or heavy. What this case does is provide a very intricate amount of customize-ability. You can move foam, pull out foam sections, add spacers remove layers. It is all there for you to customize all within a rock solid case.

The side walls are flexible enough so that a sharp bang on it does not damage them permanently but rigid enough to hold up to shipping, handling and general abuse. I am very happy with how I have set my gear up inside this case. It feels like it wont move no matter what I do to it.

Admittedly the gear in this case is a magnitude more expensive than the case itself. However, it used to be all in separate cases that would get lost or were substandard. This is like a portable safe to keep everything in.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of construction of this Zeikos ZE-HC36 hard case. The hard case includes several partitions that work in conjunction with the internal "pick-n-pluck" foam to make customizing pockets very easy. Very professional looking, and I know it is protecting my valuable photo equipment. This case is plenty big to house any current SLR/DSLR with a few lenses, batteries, and other accessories. No regrets at all.

I bought this case to store and carry my eyepieces that I use for telescopes. I am very pleased with the quality and the great price. This was almost half the price of an older case that I bought. Very nice looking, too. Thinking about buying another.

I am a novice paranormal investigator so I am on a budget. With this case, I did not spend much money and I look very professional while on investigations. I love the removable foam inserts. I have all my equipment fitting very snug so that nothing bounces around and gets damaged. Just to give an idea of what is in my case, here is a list. Full Spectrum video camera, IR/UV light, bracket for the camera & light, analog voice recorder, digital voice recorder, ambient temp gauge, 2 small flashlights, EMF detector & lots of extra batteries (9v,aa,aaa), and I still have room for a few more pieces of equipment in the future. Love this case!!!

I personally prefer a hard case, it protects the equipment a better. This one is cheap, in price and in construction, but it'll get the job done perfectly well until I can afford a nicer one. Customizable foam and it's size allows me to keep both of my cameras, (a old film SLR and a new DSLR) in one case along with all the accessories, and still have room for adding additional lenses in the future.
