I've learned my lesson. "What you pay is what you get".

Pay more a bit to get a better quality hood. Don't be like me stupid enough to purchase this item.

The screw on ring can't even screw onto the hood, the screw tread on either the ring or the hood was damage. Can't tighten at all its very loose. Quality is really BAD.

I bought this item because it was recommended by Amazon with the Tamron 18-200 lens and because it was inexpensive. To my surprise, the Tamron lens came with a hood that actually works very well, unlike the Zeikos, so Amazon should not have recommended a separate hood in the first place. The Zeikos has a thread made in its plastic body that is supposed to be screwed into the lens like a filter. I've carefully tried to do it many times and I could never make it work. Even if it worked, I doubt the plastic thread would last long, since it's just a thin thread made on relatively soft plastic. This design does not seem right. I would have returned it if I had not thrown out the packaging.

Bought this item because of the name "Hard Rubber Lens Hood" but hard rubber it is NOT.

The lens hood is fitted with a thread to screw into the lens or filter, hard to fit and remove unlike the hood that comes with the lens, which has a bayonet fitting.

Would not recommend this to anyone.

Poor quality, loose fitting (as in, barely stays on and is easily knocked out of place). Not designed well. Hood shows in many pictures unless you zoom in. Not made of rubber - made of cheap plastic. I wish Amazon hadn't recommended this to me - it was a mistake to purchase because a) it was a waste of money, and b) it is sitting in my recycling bin now. Don't buy this - it is worthless.

I just got this hood in the mail. I ordered it because I thought it was a flower petal shaped hood in the picture(they are good wide angle lenses). This is a colapsable hardened rubber hood. The threads were hard plastic and screwed in fine, construction quality was cheap but I would have no problem using it if it wasn't for my wide angle lens (the hood shows in the corners due to its length and the how wide the viewable angel on the lens is). Aside from being the incorrect product picture I've got no real problems and since it's hard rubber I might cut it into a flowerpettal shape and use it anyway. Just not worth the time sending it back when it's so cheap.

We bought this as a supplement to a new lens. the lens came with a lens hood but the quality of this one is far superior to the factory one.

This is a great inexpensive hood. Easy to use and solid. the only problem is the threads are light so it pops of sometimes.

When I read the review and saw "rubber" I thought in my mind that it was flexible. I already have the same thing and now have a spare (or sell).

I called and spoke with the representative to find that they do not carry the flexible style I was looking for and accepted my mistake in reading/understanding the product, they are good people sell quality products!

I PURCHASED THIS RUBBER HOOD WITH THE LENS TAMRON 18-250; I BOUGHT THE HOOD BECAUSE IT WAS AMAZON.COM RECOMENDATION, THE LENS COMES WITH ITS HOOD INCLUDED. THE HOOD IS NOT MADE OF RUBBER IT IS PLASTIC, I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT. THE THING IS THAT RETURNING THE ITEM IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE ITEM ITSELF, THAT'S WHY I HAVE NOT RETURNED AS OF YET.

DUE TO YOUR SELLER/PARTNER FAKE OFFER; I WILL THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING AGAIN FROM AMAZON.COM; I NEED MY MONEY BACK AND A RETURN TAG, SO I CAN SEND IT BACK TO SELLER.

IF YOU CAN DO SOMETHING FOR ME; I WILL RECONSIDER TO CONTINUE BUYING FROM AMAZON, AS I HAVE BEEN DOING FOR MANY YEARS.

I like it's petal shape better than the barrel shape of the original from Nikon.
