I got this set about 3 weeks ago when i got my Canon 7D. I havent used the car charger yet but use the regular wall charger very regularly and it works just fine. The battery doesn't communicate with my camera, as in, the camera wont display how much battery is left... kind of annoying but not a big deal. i just use it as a spare pack while the other one is charging and just know that i will have more than enough juice to get me by while the primary is charging. I shoot mostly video with my 7d and this battery has been working great for me. the charger will charge my primary battery too so its pretty versatile.

As others have stated the charger stopped working before it ever finished charging even one battery.

Absolutely pathetic build quality. Ignore everything in your body that screams "it is so cheap it must be a deal".

First attempt to charge the battery, after a few minutes, I heard a pop and a slight flicker of light in my office. Next thing you know there's a smell of burnt plastic. It seems like the fuse blew inside of the charger. Will be returning for a full refund.

The charger is horrific, the battery -- I don't know.

I am very pleased with the performance of this battery. I was skeptical upon reading the reviews, but needed a backup for my 5D markII. I am glad I took the chance and ordered it, as I have taken about 850 shots over the last couple of days and it is still going strong. I would have given it 5 stars, but the communication problem not showing battery meter is a bit bothersome. As I stated though, I wanted a backup and this will give me confidence that if my Canon pack runs dead while on a shoot, this pack will provide plenty of power to get me through. I will probably order another one, at this price why not.

I bought this because I bought my 5D2 used, and it didn't come w/ a charger. I plugged the charger in, and 10min later heard a pop, and saw a waft of smoke... whoop no more charger. I'll keep the kit, because I needed another battery, but I found a far better charger for the same price locally ($25 it can charge my BP511s, nb-2lhs, LPe6s and LPe8s - Promaster Xtrapower Traveller + ). Given the quality of this charger, I'd be concerned about sticking the Li-Ion battery in my $2k camera, but I use a BG, so I'm not too worried... I guess...

Bottom line? charger sucks, and batts (that have the retarded microchip) can be had for about the same $$$ I wouldn't waste my money on this kit again...

I bought a 60D package from Sunset Electronics based in NY which they included two of these battery.
The battery doesn't even work on the 60D. Even though these batteries are fully charged, the
camera sees these batteries not charged. The camera just don't recognize these batteries. Do not buy
this type of battery if you have a Canon 60D...

I purchased 2 of these items, on 120 volt neither charger works no output
Batteries are not recognized in my Canon 7D. So you can't tell what the charge is.

the first time usin the battery i was at a wedding when it died, not so bad, 35 sec. and the new one should be in. it took a steak knief to pry this battery out, tried it again at home and same story.. i have other brand x battries and no problem.

Third Party batteries are not rechargeable in the CANON charger because they do not have a micro-chip to give power status to the 5D mark xxx or Canon 7D cameras.

If you want to buy batteries at 1/3 the price (and you don't care about battery charge status info) then give the 3rd party batterie a try.

I previously purchased the Opteka LP-E6 2400mAh battery. It would not charge on the CANON charger so I got the "Zeikos ZE-LPE6BC Charger and Battery for the Canon LP-E6".

So far this charger charges both the Opteka and the Zeikos batteries.

BTW The CANON Charger which came with my CANON 7D body just about had a melt down charging the CANON LP-E6 battery. Probaby the CANON battery had an extremely low charge to start with. As others review, the Zeikos charger died on first charge due to overheating. I was lucky with my CANON charger and discovered it was VERY overheated and I unpluged it, then after it cooled, I plugged it back in.

Note that all fast chargers tend to heat up batteries... Slow chargers are better for batteries.

BTW: If you get the a battery grip for your camera use rechargeable AA batteries. I recommend the LaCrosse charger and Sanyo 2700 batteries.

These batteries are one third the price of the OEM batteries and work just as well. The only drawback is that they cannot be recharged in the Canon charger. However, the canon batteries can be charged in this unit. Great value.
