I bought this for my Zelda obsessed son. I had looked at the more expensive shields, but decided to not buy them due to poor reviews. I gave up my hope of being able to place this under the tree for son this Christmas. I ran across this shield by chance and decided to give it a try. The reviews were mixed, but mostly about the paint job, size and the fact that it doesn't curve. I just recieved it today and it is wonderful, better than I had expected. This may not be for the collector, but it is perfect for a 10 year old boy to play with. It is very sturdy and I did not have a problem with the paint job. It was shipped to me in a timely manner, which I appreciate since this is to be a Christmas present. I also paid a fraction of what I would have paid for a different shield. The other shields seemed flimsy and too costly for a child to play with.

Though a great replica and a good price, I did expect a bit more. My main complaint with this item is the paint job. It's not fantastic. You can tell they used a stencil... cause it blurs off the edges a bit. But oh well. It's for a 5 year old... but it's way cheaper than others I've seen.

Overall this is a smaller shield than I was hoping for but does its role. The handle on the back is surprisingly efficient. As for the detail on the shield, Some of it seems off-centered but overall for it's price it is a good buy as a prop.

My 11 year old really loved getting this shield.
It is just the right size for him and it is light enough for him to carry.
We also have the full size, metal shield, but it is more for decor, than play.
So glad to have found this one.
The price was very good too. $20 - $25.
It is made of thick wood. Has a nice handle and strap on the back.
The front is painted on, so there is no worry of pieces of the fancy art work falling off during 'battles'.
It looks as though the paint is screen print, and is done in a professional manner.
The swords that are used in role playing are the foam, or, (if amazon allows trade names), n e r f. So I think the paint will not be chipping off.

I purchased this to go with my Legend of Zelda Master Sword from the same seller...the details aren't very good. The whole thing is flat, absolutely no detail indentions or curve. Better to hang on a wall than to carry around. The paint design was definitely done with spray paint, and some parts aren't centered/straight, all the edges kind of fade off as it was done with a rather bad stencil. All in all, if you're looking for a simple prop that isn't very accurate, then this might be for you...or you may just want to make one yourself.

Comes close to resembling the Link shield but it is nothing special. Seems sturdy enough but it is essentially a wall plaque. No curve to it and a bit heavy.

My son loves his Zelda/Link sword. It may not be the authentic one but it's a great alternative for a 9 yr old. Also a great price & very fast delivery. Very happy with purchase.
