The Scabbard is pretty nicely detailed, and is really sturdy.

The picture shows bright blue, but the actual thing was really dark blue.

I specifically purchased this item with the intent of mounting it on my wall with a plaque. I'm a moderate fan of the Zelda games; my first experience being on the ol' SNES, going through Zelda: Ocarina of Time, several of the Gameboy, GBC, and GBA games, and finally beating Twilight Princess recently.

The sword looks very much as it appears in the pictures, dark blue pommel and grip. The weapon is quite long. I reccomend pulling out a measuring tape and visually comparing the length given in the description before buying. It looks like the master-sword, and so it should. The scabbard is very nice, though there are no loops or holes to attach to your own belt.

My only complaints with the weapon are minor. The Hilt, grip, and pommel seem to be molded from PVC or some other similar plastic. It feels a little cheap in the hand. The weapon is not "full-tang" (I.e. the blade ends at the hilt, rather then continuing all the way up the handle). This means that in any kind of mock battle or play, the blade could easily be disconnected from the handle. Even a hard swing of the sword in the air could potentially damage it. The blade itself is made from a cheaper metal, and could use a good polishing once it arrives. I would use it soley for display, or to compliment a costume.

I am a swordsman and a Zelda fan, so I have real high carbon steel swords. First, I will say that there are at least 10-15 different master sword replicas out there, sold by different companies. So, you either get lucky or you do not. I purchased this one, and I got the better quality sword.

The blade is factory dull 440 stainless steel. Stainless steel is too brittle to be battle ready, just so you know. It is pretty strong, and after having it for four years, it has put up with being swung around. You can even hit plants and small branches with it. The tip is brought to a sharp point. Eventually, however, it has began to rattle a bit.

The triforce emblem is laser engraved, and is pretty decent.

The cross gaurd is cold cast poly resin. It is a durable material, but chips over time.

The handle is either poly resin or wood. I cannot tell. It has nice grip rings carved into it and feels comfortable in the hand.

The pommel is like a hollow poly resin. No weight to it, so the sword is off balance- but not bad if you have the strength in your arm to compensate.

It is not full tang. It is mostly a small tang bolted into the hilt, as I can see when I look at one side of the sword. However, it is very strong for a bolted tang.

The paint IS a dark blue in house light, but outside in the sun it shines an absolutely beautiful blue.

The gold paint is done well but has rubbed off over my four years of owning the sword.

The scabbard is very durable- and of surprising quality. It is hardwood, strong enough to take my dad pushing on it to get the belt strap on (not included.) The paint job on it is nice- all of the stencils along the scabbard are a flat gold.

I'm not rating this as a sword, it's a prop. I have extensive fencing and sword play experience. I am not a sword collector but this is a gift for someone that loves Link's master sword. That said Just as an FYI, please if you buy this never use it as a real sword to hit against other blades or objects it's just not made for that, the handle will give out and it will send the very pointy, very sharp blade sailing in some random direction. It will be bad.

The downsides are:

The gold platic scabard top and bottom on the sword I got was made of dull plastic and the detailing on it were beige, not gold at all. The sword blade was not as pictured, There was no niche on either side of the tri-force. I'm an artist and it will be a good base but not as good as pictured.

The Upside was:

The blade instead of being cheap metal, while not shaped properly, was 440 stainless with a high gloss finish. It was kind of odd seeing it's rather briliant shine and very sharp pointy tip come out of the disapointing scabbard that it came with. The handle looks fair and will only need a little touch of gold leaf on the diamond in it's center to make it look perfect.

Overall:

The scabbard is not very well done, the sword prop is. I'm giving this as a gift with a sheild and some holders. I expect it will be a display peice. So it will not take a lot of effort to make it look good but more work than the pictures indicated.

I was expecting it not to look like the picture. the sword is very good ...if you get this you most deffently need the sheild for the full zelda look...only complaint i have is the color of the sword is not the same blue shown in this picture or on other sites and youtube videos... but its not bad its just a dark blue but it looks lighter in the sunlight

This sword is awesome, the triforce is excellent on the one I received and its great in weight and slightly sharp and the tip and the top of the scabbard are metal and great detail. The only down fall to it, is that its slightly darker and the paint is a little spraypainty and mine has a little chip in it, but i'm happy with it and its detail. Its a must have either way.
