"I Penitenti al Sepolcro del Redentore" is a very underrated work even for Zelenka, who himself is vastly overlooked at. One of the earliest Bohemian Oratorio ever composed, it can easily out stand the very best Handel oratorios with lovely lyricism with its original, tasteful and unique intricate flavor that only Zelenka can offer. Although this is only an amateur opinion, personally I believe that Zelenka works has good combination of Bach's counterpoint depth, Handel's exitingness, and Vivaldi's vivaciousness.
This is a record with very high standard sound and production, and anyone can only wonder why the price is still relatively low, so please rectify this negligence and get this soon as possible!

If you like Zelenka, no problem! But if you do not know him, this one will surprise you. Wonderful vocal pieces from Northern Baroque. Do yourself a favour and listen this cd.
