Book Description

March 15, 2001 Zen and the Art of
Zen is a spiritual journey that can transform and enrich our lives. Buddhism teaches us that the material world is an illusion, encouraging us to journey inward rather than outward. Yet paradoxically, many of the great Zen masters were themselves world travelers, starting with Bodhidharma, who brought Zen from India to China in the sixth century. Divided into eight meditations, experienced travel writer Eric Chaline examines how a deeper understanding of the Zen way of life can enrich every journey you take, from a simple country ramble to an epic journey across the world.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty lame for something about traveling and Zen, November 2, 2010
This review is from: Zen and the Art of Travel (Hardcover)
The book was a disappointment. 'Travel and Zen'... what beautiful topics, yet the book is not beautiful at all. Full of disconnected pictures and a weird story about this guy's life that is very choppy. The book does not flow at all. I read about 40 pages and then decided to get rid of it. Look for something else..

What an utter disappointment. There is nothing Zen about it, the meditations are uninspiring and the anecdotes are dull. Don't bother with this one.
