I read Mr. Virk's first edition of the book a few years ago and discovered many points within it's covers that struck a familiar chord. His words encouraged me to stay focused and not get side tracked by trying to do so many different things at once, but to put my effort and energy into what my passion truly was. I've tried to follow this course of action over the past few years and at times when I start to get sidetracked the words of the book still come to my mind and help me get back on the path that I'm wanting to pursue. I look forward to reading the expanded and updated version soon! Thanks for writing a book that tells us to listen to our 'inner voice'!!

Zen Entrepreneurship is a must-read for anyone seeking to integrate their spiritual path with their career path.

The book chronicles the story of Riz Virk, a young, energetic entrepreneur & recent MIT graduate, who hopes to one day make it big in the software industry. He meets Ramaswami, who serves as his spiritual as well as business mentor, offering wisdom and guidance along Riz's path. What follows is an engaging adventure (sometimes misadventure) of spiritual awakening on the path to career success.

One of the great features of Zen Entrepreneurship is that it's not only a story, but also a how-to book. Each chapter concludes with a brief summary of exercises for you to practice, which will open your eyes and expand your awareness. You can read the story straight-through, or stop after each chapter to practice the exercises.

Some of what you'll learn is:

-identifying your energetic patterns which influence your career success as well as spiritual growth
-utilizing "right timing" and identifying "times of power"
-accessing hidden flows of energy
-trusting your intuition, not your logic, no matter how crazy it may seem
-using your work as a form of meditation
-strengthening your "dreaming attention" to receive clearer guidance from your dreams
-turning your career path into a treasure hunt, by following the clues the Universe sends you
- and so much more!

This book is a joy to read and a real page-turner (I first read this on a long flight to Boston, but the book was so engrossing I was hardly aware of the passage of time); it's conversational, down-to-earth and often hilarious. It's also very relatable - for everyone not just entrepreneurs.

Both an entertaining story as well as a practical manual, Zen Entrepreneurship will shift your perceptions and unleash your inner "career warrior", enabling you to find & do your life's work with passion and joy!

I got this book as a gift, and it changed my perspective on how to approach the world of business. Inspired by the author's story, I started to look for "clues" in the world around me, coincidences that couldn't be explained by ordinary chance. To my surprise, I found lots! One set of clues seemed to confirm the direction I was to follow. To this day, I still find that same clue recurring for me when i'm not sure what direction to go in! The author's story is not just inspiring, it's easy to relate to and learn from, and I am so grateful that he chose to share his story with the world. Read this book, but be prepared for your perspective on the world to change!

I usually don't read books of this kind, but I really liked Zen Entrepreneurship. It was captivating and kept me interested. It also made me more aware and attentive to what was going on around me - in both the visible worlds and what the author calls the "hidden worlds"! I highly recommend it - it helps open up a whole new level of awareness. Bravo!

Riz has exposed in this book just how hard it is to balance business and Zen or any other spritual practice.I have been in business 55 years and all five of my businesses were start ups three failed and two made it.If I had read this book 55 years ago I think I would have batted 100%.WE all have a Ramaswami whose wisdom comes from that voice within. Riz overcame by vibrating with it when it mattered most. His dream about the future of Corporate America and the path is has and is now taking is profound and this insight alone was worth the read.

"As an entrepreneur myself, I read this book to learn more about the spiritual side. I loved the book, and had to stop to take notes and underline different points. After that, I ended up buying copies of the book for everyone I knew who was just starting out in their careers or finding their path in life, because I thought it was important for them to have a broader view of life.

It is a great story, but more than that it's a way to open up to a whole new way of work (and life). Two things (out of many) that really stood out for me are:

1) The Universe leaves Clues for us. I had never heard this before, but after reading the book, I started tuning into my intuition and discovered that clues are all around us! What a great perspective on life.

2) Turning Work into Meditation. I learned about using mindfulness at work and training my mind to focus for certain periods of time.

I also started to explore other kinds of meditation and Yoga, topics that I wasn't interested in before reading this book. This book literally opened up whole new worlds for me. Thank you Zen Entrepreneurship!"
