4.0 out of 5 stars Zen as our daily practice, May 4, 2011

This review is from: Zen Meditation and Wisdom for a Better Life: a gift to busy people, regardless of religion - expanded second edition (Paperback)
Randy Nowell's take on Zen is straight forward and to the point. His approach is simple and his message clear; Zen meditation can and should be practiced by anyone regardless of their beliefs and background. Zen is not about believing anything or practicing any particular religion, but rather a method by which every one of us can develop clearer understanding of our current situation and dramatically improve our quality of life.

Randy points out that in order for us to truly benefit from meditation we must incorporate the practice into our daily routine just like sleeping and eating. There is no need to go anywhere to practice Zen, nor does it matter when we choose practice, as long as we dedicate some small portion of our day and make meditation a habit.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to benefit from Zen meditation, as well as those who may already practicing Zen who have inadvertently made their practice more complicated than it really needs to be.
