This is not really so much a book as a pamphlet--pages held together with staples. At the time it was written, Evola may have been presenting hard-to-come-by facts and opinions. Today, anyone with a passing knowledge of Zen or feudal Japan, or with access to the Internet, will get little to nothing out of it. Those interested in Evola might, though. This pamphlet should really be free on the Internet as a PDF. Oh well.

Yes, this is not what one would consider a "book", it is more of a large pamphlet held together by staples.The content, on the other hand, does not appear dated or common knowledge, though. I rate it highly because I might not have read "Zen and the Art of Archery" had it not been for Evola's mention in one of the essays. I particularly was impressed with the Evola's acknowledgment of the subtle difference between the "immediate" and "gradual" schools of zen. I have a large library of books on this subject and I have re-read Evola's essays several times. Very scholarly and insightful.
