Book Description

April 1, 2002
Why do so many people identify with Ziggy? Because he represents the innocent side in everyone, the optimist who lives deep down and wants to see the good in everything.

No matter how bad things get, Ziggy always finds the bright spot. Because he relates better to his animal friends than to people, this adorable underdog often contemplates the meaning of life with his cuddly and accepting pets. In every panel, his insecurities encourages us to laugh at ourselves and to take everything in stride.

Syndicated since 1971, Ziggy is faithfully read by millions of readers every day. His message is one of hope and humor and hanging on to your dreams even when everything's got you down. Ziggy is a comic strip that has more than stood the test of time--with fun and spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gentle, highly enjoyable and entertaining compilation, October 7, 2002
This review is from: The Zen of Ziggy (Paperback)
The Zen Of Ziggy is the latest collection of single-panel (and the occasional Sunday sequence) comics about a little bald guy, the pets he adores, and his constant struggle to catch any sort of break in life. Perpetually faced with TV shows that have given up any pretense of disguising their lack of merit; park birds who criticize his taste in low-quality popcorn; psychoanalysts who offer reassurances about "page fright"; and a great deal more, Ziggy's cheerful good humor and ability to survive the little mishaps that innately resemble those that everyone has encountered before at one time or another, lending a wry and universal empathy to this gentle, highly enjoyable and entertaining compilation.

To bad heis n't a real guru! This book is very to the point and real. If poeple lived their lives like Ziggy, it wouldbe a much nicer life and world. We would slow down and not let the things that stress us out do so as much. Get into some ziggyism's and take a break.

You have to like Ziggy, and if you do, you'll like this book, filled with some of his best comic strips. A great gift for yourself or for someone else if they appreciate this wonderful character.
