I like the sound of the ringer and the big buttons, but the speaker volume is so faint I couldn't believe my ears and I have perfect hearing! The manufacturer really needs to address this feature and amplify the speaker volume so that when you are talking with someone, you can hear them easily without having to press your face down next to the phone and they can hear you without you having to practically have your mouth on the mic of the phone. If they would really amplify the speaker volume by more than twice what they have it, I would get a couple more of these phones! I personally bought this phone because I love the big buttons and I'm old fashioned and don't care for all the LED digital phones for a number of reasons, including health reasons, and while I don't need a phone for my hearing, I would suggest they amplify the loudness of the ringer as well if you have a lot of noise going on in the background. I can hear it okay over the top of lots of noise, but I'm just thinking of the hearing impaired; I'd think they would need it a bit louder than what it's set at for the high setting on the ringer.

I was thrilled to find an inexpensive speakerphone for my home office, except there's one problem: the volume, even set to MAX, is unusably low.

Not everyone complains about this problem, so it's possible it's a defect. I'll return it for a replacement and see if the next one is the same.

By the way,the phone is much larger than it appears in the picture. I thought it would be petite, but the buttons are a full 1" wide.
