The set's flat, 27-inch, high-definition picture tube is capable of rendering high-definition material from standard-definition 480i sources as well as progressive-scan 480p and high-definition 720p and 1080i, giving you the best from your cable box, VCR, DVR, DVD player, and DTV set-top box.

The C27V46 offers a number of high-definition features that provide amazing picture clarity. Its DCDi line doubler (manufactured by industry leader Faroudja) generates twice the original number of scan lines for a seamless, cinematic effect, eliminating jagged lines and artifacts along diagonal lines.

A built-in 3D Y/C comb filter combines the adaptive digital processing of a 3-line digital comb filter with 3D motion detection, eliminating hanging dots and color noise on stationary images. Dynamic Focus ensures accurate side-to-side focus while maintaining accurate center focus, keeping the overall image sharp. Further, scan velocity modulation dynamically varies the scanning speed of the electron beam to create clear, well defined images for the sharpest picture possible.

A rear-panel Digital Visual Interface (DVI) permits uncompressed transfer of high-definition video from a digital video source such as a DTV set-top box/receiver. Other connections include 2 HD component-video inputs, 2 S-video inputs, 4 composite-video inputs, and 2 RF inputs. One set of audio/video inputs is located on the TV's front panel to facilitate easy hookups with camcorders, game consoles, and other devices.

With 16:9/4:3 aspect ratio correction, you'll be able to watch Hollywood movies in their original widescreen format (16:9) or in standard TV format (4:3). Onboard 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing compensates for the different frame rates in film as opposed to video. You can also watch 2 channels at once using the picture-in-picture (PIP) feature.

Single-tuner picture-in-picture (PIP) lets you watch 2 channels at once, imposing a full-color inset picture in a corner of the main picture. Other features include color temperature control (which lets you adjust the ambiance of the screen's picture between warm, mid, and cool presets), stereo speakers (15 watts per channel x 2), Dolby Virtual surround sound, trilingual menus (English, French, and Spanish), and MTS/SAP audio broadcast.
