Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Zenith's stylish and affordable DVT216 home theater offers high performance and the convenience of an all-in-one package--just hook it up to a television and lose yourself in movies and music (including MP3 tracks burned to CD-R and CD-RWs). The system performs Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS 5.1-channel audio decoding for enveloping surround sound and high-impact bass. Each of the five satellite speakers (left, center, right, and left-right surround) receives 50 watts, and the subwoofer gets 80 watts.

Whether you already have a high-definition or HD-ready TV or you're thinking of "someday," the DVT216 stands ready to deliver the full potential of DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, providing higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.

Aspect-ratio selection control lets you configure the system for either 16:9 widescreen TVs or standard 4:3 sets, and additional composite-video and S-video outputs accommodate most TVs. Motion zoom enlarges the picture in real time (two levels, 4x or 16x), while variable high-speed scan offers fast-forward and reverse viewing at up to 100 times normal speed, zipping through a two-hour movie in 80 seconds. A built-in FM-AM tuner dials in the radio, and a headphone jack affords private listening. A choice of optical or coaxial digital-audio inputs lets you plug in an external device, such as a digital satellite receiver. The system comes with a handy remote control.
