Enjoy bright, brilliant imagery from high-definition telecasts and your favorite DVD movies with the 45-inch Zenith R45W47C rear projection CRT TV, which includes built-in high-definition (ATSC) and 181-channel standard broadcast (NTSC) tuners. With the integrated ATSC tuner, you'll be able to receive off-air high definition broadcasts without the need for an external set-top box. The R45W47C also features a digital cable tuner (QAM), which allows for the reception of digital cable signals that are not scrambled.

The Zenith R45W47C offers HD-grade optics, which improves brightness and focus, and reduces overall cabinet depth. Zenith's improved high-output CRT is specifically developed for digital program content and maximizes brightness and picture detail. The automatic HD Focus system eliminates the need to manually adjust the picture. Simply select HD Focus from the onscreen set-up menu, and it will automatically adjust the picture from center to edge.

The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home. The 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). Other video features include a fine 0.52mm dot pitch for improved picture detail, color temperature selection, gamma correction, all-format up converter, and video noise reduction. It also offers such TV features as two-tuner picture-in-picture (PiP), V-chip parental control, sleep timer, favorite channel functionality, and tri-lingual menus (English, French, Spanish). This TV also has a high-contrast protective screen and rear carrying handles to enable easy movement from room to room.

This TV has a pair of built-in stereo speakers that produce 15 watts per channel (30 watts total), which can provide Dolby virtual surround sound. It also includes five DSP sound field modes (user, movie, sport, music, virtual) and a volume limiter, which adjusts the volume automatically when there's a significant increase in sound. It offers the following video and audio connections:

I haved owned this product for almost a year now. I did research on HDTV's in it's size range of which this model was rated in the top three for CRT-HDTV's. The next best option, costing almost one thousand more??? "Simply Put" I'd make the purchase again. I'm still amazed at the excellent picture quality and sound.
