Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Conserve shelf space while simplifying your entertainment hookups and broadening your creative horizons with Zenith's XBR411 DVD recorder and full-function VHS VCR. This nifty, slim-height component lets you archive VHS footage to long-life DVD or choose between recording your favorite TV shows to tape or disc.

You get one-touch dubbing from VHS to DVD or from DVD to VHS (copy protection permitting). You can even record to DVD and VHS formats simultaneously. The XBR411 records to write-once DVD-R and rewritable DVD-RW discs, and it features a variety of video editing functions. Its optical-media playback abilities include compatibility with DVDs, CDs, CD-R and CD-RW discs, and CDs loaded with MP3/WMA music files. You can even play your JPEG image discs and Kodak Picture CDs, which feature fancy transitions from shot to shot and other features.

The combo unit's handy front-panel audio/video jacks simplify connections with camcorders and video-game consoles. Inputs include composite-video (with accompanying stereo analog RCA inputs), RF coaxial (accommodating antennas and older VCRs), and a front-panel audio-video input (including S-video). The recorder digitizes your video sources in high-quality MPEG-2 (the same format used for commercial DVDs), and it allows you to record to VHS tape from its S-video inputs (at standard VHS resolution).

Recording features include disc project creation, title delete, A-B delete, program move, chapter/program combine, auto/manual chapter creation, and file naming. During playback you have the option for 4x to 16x moveable zoom, variable high-speed scan (2x, 4x, 16x, and 100x), parental locks, 20-track CD programming, and repeat play.

The XBR411 is also equipped to deliver the full potential of your commercial and recordable DVDs when viewing on a high-definition or HD-ready TV. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Interlaced composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.

The VCR section offers 4 heads (for clear slow-motion and stop-action features) and stereo sound. The deck's 19-micron video heads maintain clarity during recording or playback in EP (extended play) mode, auto digital tracking adjusts for optimal picture settings for every tape you load, and auto clock set maintains the correct time and even adjusts for daylight savings. You can't program the unit to record at specific times, but it does come with a handy Instant Recording button.

For the simplest hookup with your TV, you can use a single RCA composite-video connection to handle both DVD and VCR outputs. If you want a higher-quality connection from the DVD player, you can use a component- or S-video cable to an additional input on your TV (the VCR image requires a composite-video or RF connection with your TV). You can choose between an optical and a coaxial digital-audio output to feed a surround-sound signal to your Dolby Digital- or DTS-decoding audio/video receiver.

What's in the Box
DVD recorder/VCR, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, a user's manual, audio/video cables, a registration card, and warranty info.

This Is A Grate Item For Your Own Use But Not To Take A DVD To Some Other DVD Player. It Just Does Not Work On Another DVD Player. But If You Are Only Using It For Personal Use It Is Just Fine
