Product Description

Practice Smarter & Play Your Best

Zepp Golf is a revolutionary training system (sensor + mobile app) that helps you analyze and improve your swing. Just attach the Zepp Sensor to any golf glove using the included golf glove mount and swing away to get instant feedback on your iPhone, iPad or Android device. Zepp Golf uses advanced motion capture technology to record thousands of data points per swing and helps you discover what you’re doing well and what you need to work on. Stop guessing at how to improve and start empowering your game with data and insights that will make you a better and more consistent player.

See Your Swing Like Never Before

Whether you’re at the range, on the course or practicing at home, now you can replay and review your swing in 360° from any angle on your smartphone or tablet. Visually compare the shape and angle of your backswing to your downswing to help identify common flaws like “coming over the top”. Even overlay and compare two different swings or compare your swing to a growing database of PGA coaches and pros.

Arm Yourself With Helpful Data

Zepp Golf paves the way for improvement by empowering players and coaches to measure some of the most important aspects of the golf swing: club head speed, club plane, hand path, hand speed, swing tempo, backswing club angle, hip rotation and more. It helps you understand your baseline metrics, analyze how effective and consistent your swing really is and work on mastering the repeatability of your ideal swing.

360° Swing Analysis

Zepp Golf is a powerful tool that shows you exactly what your club and hands are doing in 3D space during every swing. Spin around and analyze your club plane, club path and hand path in 360° from any angle. Then zoom in and compare how closely the shape of your backswing matches the shape of your downswing. Seeing your swing in 3D is one of the best ways to identify common flaws like “coming over the top” or a short backswing.

Swing-Friendly Design

The Zepp Sensor and golf glove mount were designed to be featherlight and stay out of your way so that you can swing like you normally do without any adverse effects. The glove-based design eliminates the need to tamper with your clubs by adding weight and bulk and also eliminates the hassle of uninstalling and installing a club-based sensor every time you switch clubs. The Zepp Sensor features a rechargeable 8-hour battery and easily attaches to any golf glove (righty or lefty).

Instant Feedback

Zepp Golf measures some of the most important aspects of your swing and uses a color-coded dashboard to help you easily identify what you’re doing well and what you need to work on after every shot and hitting session. You can also focus your practice and work on one aspect of your swing at a time. Just set your phone or tablet on the ground or lean it against the stall and swing away to get instant feedback and data.

Compare Swings

Have you ever wanted to overlay and compare two swings at the same time or compare your swing to a pro? Well now you can. Select any two swings and replay them simultaneously from any angle or compare the data for each swing side by side. You can also compare your swing to a growing database of PGA coaches and pros.

How It Works

Zepp Golf was designed to be extremely easy to use. Just download the free Zepp Golf app on your smartphone or tablet, attach the Zepp Sensor to your golf glove using the included golf glove mount and wirelessly connect the sensor to your phone via Bluetooth. Whenever you swing, your swing data will automatically and instantly appear on your smartphone or tablet. There’s no limit to how many swings you can store and analyze in the app.

Make It Multi-Sport

To start using your Zepp Sensor for baseball, softball or tennis, all you need to do is purchase a Zepp Baseball bat mount or Zepp Tennis racket mount and download the Zepp Baseball or Zepp Tennis app. The mounts are sold separately and the apps are free on the Apple App Store and Android Google Play Store.

I love the instant feedback on each and every swing.

One bit of warning, I think that you need to have a decent swing down already and an idea of what makes a good swing already in your thinking.
Once I finally got the glove, the club and the app all set up, the Zepp sensor had turned off from lack of use.

I got a Zepp Golf 3D Swing Analyzert for Christmas. I went out to the range today to put it through it's paces. It's an interesting idea, but overall, one I think that doesn't provide much value to the golfer. Here is a pretty detailed review.

For a baseline, I'm a scratch golfer with about a 115mph driver club head speed. My misses are either a pull hook or a slice due to my over the top move.

The concept is simple, you clip a small (1x1) sensor onto your glove hand. The sensor stores various swing physics and transmits to your phone via a bluetooth connection.

Setup was simple as could be. Sign in with an email address, pair the Zepp via bluetooth and you're off to the races. The Zepp will then ask you to calibrate the sensor, which consists of you standing in your address position for 3 seconds. The problem with this is it's a pain in the neck to push a button on your phone and then grip a club and get into a setup position in the 2 seconds they give you before calibration starts. First strike.

Once you're calibrated, all you have to do is select your club and swing. Repeated swings will get attributed to the same club until you change the club via the app, so you have to be sure you don't forget when you switch clubs to open the app. I found the actual use very simple, it requires almost no user input and the sensor itself is not noticeable on the hand.

The whole point of the Zepp is to provide you with metrics of how your swing looks. It measures or estimates things like club speed, club plan variation, hand plane variation, tempo, backswing length, hand speed and hip angles. It does some better than others.

I can tell you the hip angle sensor is useless.

Thank you for your detailed review. Looking at your screenshots you have some great numbers.

You bring up a great point about what to do with the data. What is the value if you can't turn the data into actions? We completely agree and have been working hard to introduce features that'll help. Besides the various tips and drills found in the Training Center we recently launched a new feature called Zepp Insights. Zepp Insights are a weekly report (min 30 swings captured) that provides you with your top metric as well as a metric that can use improvement. The metric that averages nearest to your goals will be outlined as your top stat whereas the metric thats average is the furthest off is considered the recommended focus. Areas of recommended focus will include a drill that can be easily incorporated into your practice. In the coming months we hope to build on this by introducing more features that'll help users turn the data into action.

Lastly, one quick note about accuracy. The hip rotation metrics can vary significantly depending on what you're wearing. If the phone is loose in your pocket and jostles around the number will not be accurate. For swing speed, try adjusting your grip setting and ensure the lengths of your clubs are correct. You will see some variance when comparing to devices such as a Trackman, however; you should be able to get fairly accurate numbers.

Thanks again for offering your feedback. If you happen to have additional questions or feedback don't hesitate to contact us.

UPDATE: 4 OCT 2014
The Zepp sensor battery won't keep a charge. When plugged into the charger, the smartphone will connect but as soon as I pull the sensor from the charger, it shuts down. I've downgraded it to 3 out of 5 stars. When it was working, it provided a lot of useful data to the average golfer.

Reviewing Zepp's website and Zepp's apps in the Google Play store, I noticed they also make products for tennis and baseball. They seem to follow a similar approach that is found in competing products, where digital accelerometers are attached to the ends of golf clubs or hands to determine swing planes and to calculate swing speed.

The Zepp system is fairly refined. The device is the size of a Starburst chew and clips to the flap of your golf glove. After initial Bluetooth pairing with my Samsung Galaxy S3, I started setting up my profile and club choices. I found that the club choices are both limited and dated. It was great they feature vendors like Pinemeadow and Diamond Tour, but they don't even have TaylorMade's newer irons like the Speedblade.

There's not enough distinction among clubs. If I have multiple generic drivers, they all look the same from the selection screen. Only the brand name drivers/clubs will have a brand-specific icon of the club. There's not enough statistics breakdown for individual clubs. The labs report may show average swing speed for "3 iron", even though I used 4 different brands of 3 irons that particular day. The weekly reports that are emailed don't make that clear of a distinction either.

The advantages of Zepp are that it is easy to use.

- Easy to Use
- Has a "cool factor" on the range
- Seems very accurate for the information it gets on the swing
- Can use for different sports

- The biggest con is probably that all the data you get, it really doesnt tell you HOW to swing better.

Great little device to see how you swing your club. If you are a data geek, you will love it. If you are actually trying to FIX your swing, you still will need to have a PRO teach you. So it is great that you can then show the PRO what is wrong with the swing, and by showing them the data, they can actually teach you how to swing better and correct your mistakes.

So this is a great start to baseline your performance, but buying this will most likely not actually make you better. It does arm you with the info to get someone else to teach you greatness.

Evan as a fairly technical person, I had some difficulties setting up the Zepp golf swing analyzer, and I attribute most of the problems to poor instructions. There are no instructions in the box whatsoever, just an easily-missed card with a web address.

At the web site, step one is to download the app - easily done. Step two is to turn on the Zepp unit, but the picture indicates the power button with a dot on the top surface NEAR the corner, when you’re actually suppose to press ON the corner in towards the center. I spent 10 frustrating minutes just trying to turn the unit on, and didn’t succeed until I found a support page with more clear instruction.

Step three is pairing, which was straight forward, but after pairing I got a pop-up on the iPhone saying “The accessory “ART” uses an app you do not have installed. Would you like to get it from the App store?” A search on Zepp’s web site turned up nothing and I ultimately chose to IGNORE the note and not get whatever App it was referring to. This hasn’t caused any problems so far, but it’s a little disturbing to think that I may be missing something important.

Step four is mounting the device to my golf glove. This works best with a tight fitting glove. One of my gloves was a little large around the wrist such that only the back part of the tab contacted the velcro on the glove - the Zepp consumed this small patch of velcro so the tab had nothing to stick to.

At step five you launch the app and are immediately required to enter an email address to create an account. There’s no way around this account creation, yet none of Zepp’s documentation talks about needing an account or any features or benefits of having an account.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this detailed review on your experience with Zepp Golf. Your feedback has been shared with our entire team and we have already implemented a few changes in our most recent app update. We'd like to offer a few comments on some of the issues you brought forward:

- Trouble turning on the mount - We created a new video showing how to turn on the sensor. It has been posted on our setup page, support pages, and on our YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QDmbnIrPuE
- The "ART accessory" message pops up when a sensor is paired prior to downloading a Zepp app. We're working to get this message updated.
- Accounts are required because each swing that is captured with Zepp is synced to the cloud. This also enables users to access their account history at any point in time from any mobile device that has the app.
- We have over 10,000 clubs in our database and are continually adding new clubs. If you find that your clubs are not in the database we recommend entering generic clubs - https://golfsupport.zepp.com/customer/portal/articles/1484616-my-clubs
- Capturing a swing - In our latest app update we have improved the start up flow to make it clearer how to capture a swing.
- How to analyze and get better - In an upcoming app release we will be introducing video tips and drills into the app. In the meantime, a number of tips and drills can be found here - http://www.zepp.com/golfvideos/

Thanks again for your review. We're committed to helping golfers improve their swing and will continue to regularly introducing new features directed to help you improve. As you continue to use Zepp Golf we guarantee that you'll see an improvement in your swing and a reduction in your handicap.
