Cut the Rope: Experiments

The follow-up to the award-winning mobile game Cut the Rope has arrived for Android! ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope: Experiments features the familiar and loveable little monster Om Nom who is discovered by a mad (but not bad) scientist determined to study his candy-loving behavior through a series of experiments.

Cut the ropes, release candy into Om Nom's mouth, collect shiny gold stars, and unlock new levels. Read the in-game hints to learn the basics of gameplay for each new level or get help on especially tough puzzles.

Join millions of people around the globe and help the Professor and Om Nom get through these wacky experiments!

Cut the Rope is a puzzle game with a simple premise: a little monster named Om Nom arrives on your doorstep in a box labeled "Feed with Candy." To satisfy Om Nom's sweet tooth, simply cut the rope--you'll find it's easier said than done when enemies and obstacles await you.

Key Features
  • Enjoy ad-free gameplay with this premium version of Cut the Rope
  • Solve puzzles in different ways: the quickest path to feeding Om Nom may not yield the most points
  • Use the touchscreen to interact with puzzles: cut ropes, pop bubbles, and use other contraptions to your advantage
  • Climb the leaderboards and unlock achievements with fully integrated Scoreloop support

The game is called Bamboo Chutes. You don't really get it. To earn the game you have to unlock every level of the game by getting a perfect 3 stars in every level in all the packs. Of course you can pay $1.99 to purchase Bamboo Chutes. Bamboo Chutes is really an add on game to Cut the Rope. I have owned Cut the Ropes for over two years. You can also pay $1.99 to unlock any other box of levels. You can also unlock all of the levels for $3.99. The app even has PayPal built in to help facilitate IAPs.

My suggestion is turn on the airplane mode of your device so your children can't purchase more add ins to the app or buy their way through the app or by unlocking game levels. I don't believe in IAPs in children's games and for that reason I give the app 1 star. It would be easy for the developers to just charge more for a good game so a parent knows that their children are not spending money on IAPs. The game does play with the WIFI turned off. Get it if you want and turn on the airplane mode to protect your money while the kids play the game.

* Read phone status and identity
* Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
* Full network access
* View network connections
* View WIFI connections

Like most apps with in app purchases this app is loaded with other programs. It contains Amazon InApp Billing which is unacceptable in a game targeted at children. It also contains three analytics programs to monitor what you are doing in the app. It has Amazon Insights, Flurry analytics and MixPanel. They will monitor your keystrokes and swipes and also your in game behavior. It was designed to monitor the software but these programs have become more used to help monetize the app.

5.0 out of 5 stars Continues the tradition of the original game June 10, 2012
Verified Purchase
I am a *huge* Cut The Rope fan. I played the original game until I was able to collect 3 stars on every level. And then I had to wait what seemed like an interminably long time before Cut The Rope: Experiments was available on the Android platform. But it was worth the wait.

Experiments takes up where the original left off. There are new levels, new tools, new features, and lots more. The game provides all of the challenges, and all of the fun of the original. And, as with that first game, I eagerly await whatever additional levels Zeptolab supplies (some of which have already arrived, since downloading the original Experiments).

Thousands of games exist for the Android platform; and I have played many, many hundreds of them. Cut The Rope (and Cut The Rope: Experiments) ranks right up at the top, in my estimation. I am completely bored by "match 3" games. "Hidden object" games are catchy only for a very short time. Jumping, fighting, shooting, and other fast-finger games are not even in my vernacular. I like a challenge -- a thinking challenge. Some of my other favorites include Where's My Water, Sprinkle, and the Angry Birds series. But the two Cut The Rope games (including this one) are my absolute favorites.

1.0 out of 5 stars IAP Aimed at Children is Always Unacceptable February 12, 2015
Verified Purchase
This game series started as clean fun for kids and adults alike. It didn't take long, however, to go rogue with ads and IAP aimed at children. This game follows suit with IAP targeting children and their doting caretakers.

Just don't bother.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deceptive... February 12, 2015
By Ravyn

The game says, "Bamboo Chutes" leading me to believe it was a new version of Cut the Rope, but unfortunately as someone has already pointed out, it is just the same old Cut the Rope game with a new "IAP" targeting children. Completely unacceptable and deceptive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just plain addicting fun! June 27, 2012
I really like the physics involved in this game, it just kept getting better as I went through the game. New elements were introduced as you progressed and then they were combined into these frustrating puzzles. Lime most people I found myself putting it down and walking away for a bit, but I kept coming back to it.

The graphics and the sound on this game were really well done, the music never got too old for me. The controls were well designed and I never had any problems with it locking up or messing up (besides due to my own mistakes).

I would easily recommend this game to anyone and everyone of all ages.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE OF OBSCENE CHARGES January 4, 2013
Verified Purchase
(*Understand I wanted to give this 0 stars, but was unable to proceed with the review unless I gave it at least 1 star.) My 6-yr old loves the "Cut-the-Rope" game; however, he did not understand that every time he clicked on "Get Superpowers," I got dinged with a ridiculous charge of $17.99. Beware, parents! I could not find a way to cancel the charges, either.
