Product Description

Size:12 pack

Enjoy great-tasting water with the latest filter technology. The ZeroWater filtration system combines FIVE sophisticated technologies that work together to remove virtually all dissolved solids from your tap water, delivering you great tasting water. ZeroWater’s first layer of filtration, activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy removes the chlorine taste you are accustom to with tap water. The Ion Exchange stage removes virtually all dissolved solids that may be left over from public water systems or even leached into your water from piping such as Aluminum, Lead, Zinc, Nitrate and more. Three additional stages are included to remove other impurities and to ensure your water receives the appropriate amount of treatment time to deliver a “000” reading on your laboratory-grade Total Dissolved Solids meter. Stage 1 - Activated carbon infused micron cloth, Stage 2 - Multi-layer system using activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy, Stage 3 - Distributor that maximized contact, Stage 4 - Comprehensive ION EXCHANGE array, Stage 5 - Non-woven membrane to remove fine particles. Filter cartridge life is based on household water consumption and inlet water quality. How often the cartridge needs to be replaced is determined by how much water you put through the system and how hard the cartridge has to work to clean the water you put through it. Filtering your water through ZeroWater filters not only improves the taste of your tap water, it also prevents you from throwing plastic water bottles into the trash and clogging up landfills. Contains 12 cartridges.

From the Manufacturer

5-Stage Filter Improves Taste and Removes 99.6% of TDS.

Five-Stage Filtration System

At the heart of every drop of water that's purified by a ZeroWater Pitcher is an independent, laboratory-calibrated water tester called a TDS meter. TDS stands for 'Total Dissolved Solids' and represents the amount of dissolved substances that can negatively affect the way water tastes.

  • Stage 1: Activated carbon infused micro cloth.
  • Stage 2: Multi-layer system using carbon and oxidation reduces alloy.
  • Stage 3: Distributor that maximizes contact time.
  • Stage 4: Comprehensive ION Exchange array.
  • Stage 5: Non-woven membrane to remove fine particles.

ZeroWater Replacement Filters

The only filter that removes virtually all dissolved solids.

Be prepared to taste the best tasting water like never before! ZeroWater 5-stage filters are the most effective at removing virtually all dissolved solids from tap water so you can enjoy TDS-free, pure-tasting water.

Unlike conventional gravity-fed water filters, ZeroWater’s patented 5-stage, Ion-Exchange filter delivers the only filtered water to measure 000 PPM (parts per million) on the TDS meter. Compare that to the levels you’ll find in other filtered waters, most bottled waters and plain unfiltered tap water, all of which contain measurable amounts of dissolved solids. Meter readings for tap water in the US average between 190 and 200 PPM. Conventional filtered water measures between 030-500 PPM, and bottled water between 000-350 PPM.

Even if you live in a municipality that cleans or treats water, water can pick up chemicals on its way from the treatment plant to your faucet, giving your tap water a metallic and chlorinated taste. Water that’s purified with a ZeroWater filter, however, tastes the way water should: crisp, clean, and fresh.

Tested and certified by NSF International for removal of several minerals, ZeroWater is the only filtration system that fits the FDS definition of purified bottled water and is the only pitcher filters certified to reduce Lead and Chromium.

Are All Water Filters The Same? Have you noticed that tap water tastes different from city to city? The reason: the unique levels and combinations of dissolved substances in your water. Most of these impurities are total dissolved solids, or TDS. Municipalities eliminate microbiological impurities in tap water such as bacteria to make tap water potable, but they do not remove 100 percent of all TDS impurities in tap water. Removing TDS is the primary reason to filter your water at home or the office, and eliminating TDS will significantly impact the taste of your water. Most conventional carbon filters only filter certain substances from your water. ZeroWater filters eliminate virtually all detectable TDS from drinking water at an affordable price. Unlike the alternatives, with ZeroWater you can be sure you’ll get 100% great-tasting water. ZeroWater’s dual ion exchange filtration pitchers and dispensers are the first and only in its class to receive NSF International’s certification for the reduction and removal of copper, iron, zinc, aluminum, lead, chromium-6, mercury, chlorine and hydrogen sulfide in tap water. The only filter on the market that combines activated carbon and dual ion exchange technologies to eliminate virtually all dissolved solids in tap water, making it the only filtration system that meets the FDA’s requirement for TDS in purified bottled water. ZeroWater provides an affordable and equally as effective alternative to Reverse Osmosis in removing hexavalient Chromium to the more stringent standards proposed by the Environmental Working Group. When your water starts reading '006' it’s time for a change.

How Long Will My Filter Last? Depending on your levels of TDS will affect how long your filters lasts. Use the chart to estimate how long your filter will last based on the TDS in your area. Very high TDS will reduce filter life more quickly, since ZeroWater is removing virtually all TDS from your tap water the filter may wear our faster. More complete filtration than ordinary filters for a clean, crisp taste. Certified to NSF Standard 53 to reduce specific health-related contaminants such as Lead, Chromium and Mercury. Certified to NSF Standard 42 to reduce contaminants like Hydrogen Sulfide, Chlorine Taste and Odor. ZeroWater Technologies, LLC has developed the ZeroWater Filtration System with the mission of delivering the best filtration possible to consumers through its patented 5-stage ion exchange filter which removes virtually all total dissolved solids (TDS). No other filter pitcher or dispenser can make this claim. By removing virtually all TDS, ZeroWater is the only gravity-fed filtration system to match the TDS levels found in Purified Bottled Water. You’ll also contribute to water conservation, because unlike reverse-osmosis systems, ZeroWater is gravity operated and does not waste electricity or water.

Fishy smell

Most customers do not notice an odor from their filter, so if you do notice an odor, it’s likely that the general make up of your water is different than most. When the filter is used up, this can cause the smell. It is very important that you regularly test your water to be sure it reads 000 to prevent this in the future.

Filter life

Filter life greatly depends on the TDS reading of your tap water. The lower the TDS, the longer the filters will last. You need to test your water to know for yourself.

First of all, I would like to say that this ZeroWater filtering system, offers the best tasting water of any filtered water system I have ever tasted. That being said, I would like to let it be known that the company has pulled a "Bait and Switch" on its customers. Our regular tap water registers about 140 on the ZeroWater meter, and the first few ZeroWater replacement filters we bought, were cylindrical in shape. Those filters gave us about 45 gallons before needing to be replaced. That was good for us, to last through almost 1 month of everyday use. Now we bought the "new and improved", bullet shaped filters, and they only last for about 30 gallons (about 2 1/2 weeks), or 33% less drinkable filtered water (registering under 6 on the ZW meter) than the original cylinder shaped filters, FOR THE SAME PRICE. Yes folks, the company seems to be giving its customers the old screwgee, where we will have to pay more to get the same amount of usable filtered water, as we originally got with the filter that came with the original ZeroWater pitcher! Unless the company decides to go back to the original cylinder filters, rather than these bullet shaped ones (and from what I have read, customer service has no intentions of doing so), I can NOT recommend these filters, due to poor customer relations. Once our existing filters run out, we will be looking to a new company for our filtered water needs.

I was having the problems to a higher extreme than most of you complaining about replacement cost. My filters last only about six days (max), my water meas 781 to 831 depending on the day (I have no idea why). If you go to the site or read your manual they tell you that if you are using an excessive amount of filters call them to see how they can help. When I did they told me they sold the filters in sets of 16 for $159.99, which break down to about $10 a filter. Which saves you quite a bit. So if you are feeling that the replacement cost is to much call the 1800 number in your manual thats what I did. That cost includes shipping. It's like buying two and getting a filter free for every two you buy.

UPDATE 16 Jan 2015... I have been buying water at a water store since summer 2013. The distilled water, though a hassle to have to fill jugs the price and the struggle was less than Zero water. They changed the design and it got worst that ever 6 days. Besides some of my filters would be bad as soon as I loaded them, they (Zerowater) replaced one ever so often. However it was just frustrating because you spend so much on a 'some of the time' product. If you have water under 200 TDS it is good buy but honestly the cost is to much over time for horrible water like mine. Wish I would have got it when they first started, some of those people are still to this day using the exact same filter from day 1. Just makes you think, why would you not, if you could make a lifetime filter?

I love water. It's all I drink. I can taste the difference in various bottled water. I have been using the Zero water pitcher since it first came out. I LOVED it. After spending thousands on bottled water, I finally had great water for pennies. Then... the design change of the filters. The old design was great. I could get about 50 gallons from each filter. Now? I'm lucky to get 15. I added a water filter to my faucet, hoping by filtering the water first, it would help to stretch these out. No luck with that. And I have had to throw away 3, out of the 8-pack, because they stopped working after about 4 pitchers of water. The water stayed in the top of the pitcher. I am now looking for an alternative to this. They had a great product and messed it up.

Update: I have had no response from Zero Water about my first review. I realized, if I lightly hit the clogged filter on the edge of the sink, it would begin to empty again. This is aggravating, but it does allow the filter to last a little longer. BUT, this does have it's drawbacks, as a few pitchers later, the filtering median begins to show up, floating in the top of the pitcher when water is added. As I said, this "new" filter is seriously flawed. I finally purchased an ASIN:B005V087GS Aquasana AQ-4000B Countertop Water Filter System. It's not cheap, but the water is good, and clean, using the Zero Water Testing meter.

I purchased the original unit (ZeroWater ZP-010 10-Cup Pitcher) on December 10, 2012. Since then I have gone through numerous replacement units and I have had the same result every single time. The activated carbon granules keep leaking into the top receptacle along with other granules and the water just stink and tastes rancid. This happens variably within few weeks of replacing the filter so I think I'm done with this unit.. Switching back to Brita.

I've used these for 3 years now. And each filter lasted at least 3-4 months.

Zero Water is now selling a different version (If only I could get the straight ones like these).. they are tapered at the bottom. They last about 1 month.

In addition, even overnight, the water does not filter through - I've had to hold the tank up and make sure there's no air bubbles caught in the filter.

Big thumbs down - used to be a great product. Now I'm looking for the old type filters (the ones that look like these in the picture) and simultaneously alternatives for filtering water.
