Handles heavy batters with ease,

This review is from: Zeroll Universal EZ Disher
For years I've used two stainless steel scoops for cookie-baking. One regular sized scoop and one comparably sized (i.e. jumbo cookie-sized) to the black-handled Zeroll. The stainless ones have been the bain of my cookie-baking in that the metal-toothed gear at the bottom of the handle would frequently "jump the tracks" and leave the inner ring hanging outside the scoop. Several minutes and a stout kitchen knife would then be needed to pry the teeth back in alignment. No more will that be necessary - these scoops work flawlessly. They scoop through stiff batters and release the dough smoothly with no wailing or knashing of teeth - mine or the scoop's.

This scoop works great and looks great, too.
I'm posting mostly because there wasn't sufficient size information when I bought mine. (I was judging by the picture and figured I'd use it for cookie dough or a melon baller if it was smaller than I was hoping.) This is a Zeroll size 16, which is 2.25" in diameter (57mm). It appears that the Zeroll scoops are color coded... if you go to the Zeroll website (just add dot com), you'll see, for example, that the white is a 3" diameter scoop, and orange is 1-3/16". These seem to be designed for commercial use and amusingly come with instructions for "how to get more profit" by dispensing even scoops of ice cream. I think the commercial design bodes well for a long lifetime for this. Note: These are not clearly dishwasher safe.

This is the perfect cookie scoop I've been searching for. Just the right size for crowd pleasing, beautiful cookies. The design makes for easy clean up - no places for bits to get stuck.

So I ordered all the small dishers available on Amazon. Sure, I'm nuts, but I have Amazon Prime, so the shipping was free. Anyway, I thought you all might like to see my analysis of them.
I added a picture of the scoops and the balls they created to the item, see the alternate pictures. The balls are made out of quite firm, straight from the refrigerator whipped white chocolate ganache. There are two scoops shown for each disher. On the left is a scoop leveled off with a knife, to the right is a slightly rounded "natural" scoop. The Orange Zeroll scoop produced ganache balls of 6-8 grams, Burgundy produced scoops of 13-22 grams. (see picture) I also bought the Norpro Stainless Steel Scoop, 25MM (1.5 Teaspoon) and am keeping that, as I really wanted a very small scoop. The next smallest is also the most expensive, the smaller of the two Zeroll (the Orange one). I think the larger two, the Oxo and the Adcraft would be best for cookies or small meatballs, but if you like a larger truffle, they could be used for that too. The Oxo Good Grips Small Cookie Scoop has the most comfortable handle to use of all of them. It produced ganache balls of 14-19 grams. I returned the Zeroll scoops. The plastic handle was awkward to scoop very stiff batter with, it felt cheap.

The Zeroll scoops are excellent, well made and can be used for many things.I use them for cookie dough, meat balls, candymaking, portion control, batter and ice cream. The Zeroll scoops are made in the U.K. from quality ingredients and come in sizes from very small to extra large-[.71OZ-2.78OZ]-they have different coloured handles for easy I.D.. They are very easy to clean and are "NSF APPROVED". This scoop is the best that I have found at the price. If you are in the market for one or a set, try one of these I think you will be pleased!

I use this scoop for scooping batter or for making meatballs. It's nice because you'll get even sizes of meatballs. It is well made and easy to clean. I handwashed mine all the time.

I needed a very specific serving size for a particular preparation I was planning, and Zeroll Company has all the serving sizes you can imagine.Design is very nice and so are the materials and colors. The only flaw I noticed is that the cleaning mechanism of the bowl is not very accurate and does not reach the bowl surface evenly enough, leaving remains at the bottom of the bowl, certainly not as other brands I own, like the all-steel japanese made dishers, which are cheapper.

I have several zeroll scoops in varrious sizes and they are awesome! I had perviously owned a couple scoops that I had purchased from crate and barrel, but they weren't strong enough to scoop cold cookie dough and would frequently "jump" the folcum and no longer scoop correctly. That has never happened with my zeroll scoops. I love that they come in so many sizes and their durability. They are a must for any frequent baker (I use them for cookies, muffins, cupcakes, etc.).
