Yes, this does create a little bit of mess on your counter but it's super convenient.

For families or individuals who need things ready-access like cereals, trail mix, whole coffee beans, etc (which is what we use them for) and want their kitchen to look good at the same time (not to mention saving pantry space), then this is a great product. It looks so good that we've had company comment on the dispensers many times. Our daughter loves to be able to reach up into the cabinet, grab a cereal bowl & right below it is her cereal dispenser. If anyone has seen a kid pour cereal out of a box (with cereal getting trapped in the bag & bouncing all over the counter) then this dispenser isn't going to bother anyone. When a Cheerio or two bounces out of the bottom, the kids can pick it up and toss it in their bowl.

We have 3 of these - 2 singles and a double in the red. One is for my husband's coffee, the other is for trail mix. The double dispenser is for 2 kinds of cereal. Regular cereal fits great. Chocolate mini wheats are ok. I've put my cereal in them before (flavored mini wheats) and that is a bit messier (too many shreds from the box fall out the bottom) and it's harder to turn. Smaller dry foods like Cheerios, Chex, Special K, etc are just fine. Nuts, cat food, etc are fine. With the whole coffee, you just have to be sure there aren't beans left in the rubber turning spiral when you are finished & the beans don't fall out.

Overall, we realy love this product.

This product makes a huge mess on your counter. Also the space between the dispenser mouth and the counter is too small for some size bowls forcing you to either pour half a bowl of cereal or make a huge mess on the counter. Also removing the cap on the bottom of the dispenser between uses also ends up in cereal spilling onto the counter.
