Lots o' Hype
on April 21, 2012
This tea is billed as having "natural" ingredients, but, as I read the fine print, I saw that this tea is enhanced with two laboratory flavors, yes, laboratory. Producers can get by with such labeling if the ingredient is chemically identical to the natural one. In this tea there's "natural coconut flavor, natural cinnamon flavor." Straight out of the lab, folks!
Why, oh why, does the customer have to be reminded on the box that this tea is vegan--Hello?--and gluten free? And then there's a boast that this tea provides "The Art of Aromatherapy." Isn't this over-doing it a bit? They claim it's "artisan crafted" which I guess is based on smaller batches of CTC-cut black tea. Hype like this drives me nuts.
I cannot say the tea is unpleasant, though it's on the bland side, and, as previous reviewers have mentioned, lacking in that punch some of us like in a masala chai. I'd say this tea is okay, but just ho-hum .
