We bought this set for our seven year old grandchild. She loves it! It has a really cute hamster that can do all sorts of amazing things! It was nice to have the starter house and the hamster all in one. It is worth the extra price and is hard to find in the stores even before the big hamster craze so this saves you a bunch of frustrated empty handed shopping trips!

My daughters, ages 2 and 4, love these Zhu Zhu hamsters. They are so cute to watch. Lots of fun with absolutely no mess. They are waiting for more accessories to build their dream hamster city. Well worth every penny.

We purchased the Zhu Zhu pets starter bouse for our 7 year old's birthday. The house is fine and works with other zhu zhu pets. However, the zhu zhu pet that came with the starter set is not working. I have emailed Amazon and their seller we bought it from with no answer other than sending everything back. Of course, the 7 year old does not want to do this. It would be nice to be able to swap out the not functioning zhu zhu pet with another, but that is not going to happen. Otherwise, it is a good product so far.

These toys are great! They make my 4-yr old and his friends happy! They laugh so hard sometimes playing with them! It is what they say "a pet without the mess." Yes, sometimes you have to give them a nudge in their hamster toys, but the kids don't care. People should not be allowed to rate these items UNLESS THEY HAVE THE TOY. Imagine if you created these toys and they got so popular so quickly that Demand was greater than the Supply? They didn't know this was going to happen. Would you want someone giving your product one star because they are whining about the price of it? Don't rate something unless you own it!

My niece is 4 years old. I gave her two pieces of the Zhu Zhus for Christmas - she LOVES it. After doing the real hamster thing, I DO TOO! 2 months later, she still plays with it.

My grandkids love all Zhu Zhu items. This was a great addition to some other items they already had and received for Christmas as well. They call it their "Zhu Zhu City." All are of excellent quality, very clever!!

my granddaughter loved the set, but the zhu zhu pet did not work - no battery. Somewhat of a disappointment on Christmas day.

got this product for my seven year old daughter's birthday. she loves it. it keeps her entertained for quite a while. now that it is not so new though, she plays with it less often, but she still really likes it. i will probably get an add-on for christmas.

Finally got this for my kids' birthday (4 years and 1 year, they share a birthday week). Its cute, but w/out the add-ons, there isn't much for the hampsters to do. We have 3 hampsters, and really only 2 fit. Also, if they are fluffy (we have Zhu the Hedgehog) the low clearance on the tunnels will get caught on the high-pile fur and you have to give the little guy a little nudge.

My daughter (age 4) saw a Zhu Zhu pet at a friend's house over Christmas and insisted that it was the only thing she wanted for her birthday. I let her brother (age 20 months) give her this for her birthday, and she was thrilled. It was her favorite gift.

While I never really wanted to own a Zhu Zhu pet, I have to admit that it is kind of cute. I prefer it when the door is closed and the pet stays in the trail, but the kids love to let it out.

I doubt this toy will hold their attention for long--few do. But it was fun to see the delight on her face when she opened this up.
