4.0 out of 5 stars Binoculars For Birding, February 7, 2006

I decided to try this rather obscure brand and am not disappointed. I previously had been doing my "birding" with my Swarovski 8x30's and while they are excellent, I needed more magnification for my aging eyes and I didn't want to pay the price of the Swarovski 10x42 roof prisms. I had previously tried my son-in-law's Nikon Monarch's 10x42 and was ready to buy a pair when I came across the Zhumell 10x42 during a internet search. I was able to purchase these from Amazon at a much better price than the Monarch's. They are equally as sharp as the Nikon and they focus a lot closer. My only criticism is they are a bit heavy, but worth the buy none the less.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeiss They're not but they're affordable and work well., January 28, 2011
This review is from: Zhumell Signature 10x42 Waterproof Binoculars (Electronics)
I needed a pair of good binoculars for hunting. I had never heard of the Zhumell brand before but after some comparisons with similar binoculars, I decided to buy a Signature 10x42 model. The price was mainly what drove my purchase and I considered the unknown quality v. affordability a risk worth taking.

The binoculars arrived Monday and I messed around with them for the next three days. they are easy to use and well laid out. The optics seem to be crisp and well focused. Focusing is quick and very easy with the adjustment wheel but takes some getting used to. It doesn't take a whole lot of adjustment to bring them into focus when panning around a field. The harness system and front lens covers are about the only problem I have had with them.

I was finally able to get out on a night hunt with them and actually just returned at about 9PM. I can't remember ever writing a review for a product before but after how well they performed I had to give Zhumell some sort of cudos for these binoculars. I was able to see two badgers when they came out of the woods at 150 yards with a 1/4 moon but could't pick them up in the Trijicon AccuPoint 2.5-10x56 rifle scope ($7-800 scope) until they halfed the distance. Several Reh deer were also out and I was able to clearly observe them. I am very happy so far with these binoculars and hope to enjoy many more hours of hunting with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Binocs, January 17, 2009

After endless searching on the internet I chose these babies. Easily compares to the pairs I tried out at a few stores that were hundreds more, including Nikon Monarchs, and some $300+ Leupolds. Was kind of skeptical on buying without viewing, but like I stated are way better than others. Are a bit heavy, but I'm used to twenty pound 10X50's and so are actually lighter for me. Only real gripe with these are the harness that comes with it. The holders on the binocs are smaller than the ones on the harness and so need to be rigged. I bought some velcro wire straps for a dollar that seem to work out for me. At -4 Farinheight performed very well giving me crisp bright views of a hairy woody with no problems, it was like seeing one again for the first time. I've only had these for a week and so can't testify to their longevity, but seems like some hardcore binocs. The close focus is awesome which is a big reason I bought them, I'm 6 feet and can easily focus on my shoes/stuff on the ground next to me. Haven't done any serious birding(main use) with these babies yet, but don't anticipate any problems.
