The edger works great along ceilings, along baseboards where you want a straight edge. Just don't get too much paint on your roller.

It's true that with this kit you can paint edges without taping. This gadget makes perfectly straight edges along ceilings and trim. Never slopped or dripped. Made short work of the part of painting I hate and do badly. You need the whole rig because the roller gizmo has to ride in the rails of the paint tray.

The kit looked great in the hardware store, so I bought it. Used it according to package directions. Couldn't get close enough to the point where ceiling meets wall with it. It did make a nice straight line, except there was an additional line of the old Williamsburg Blue paint - about 1/8" wide above the Earthy Amber I was repainting with . Had to use a sash brush to cover the old paint color anyway. Too bad - it seemed like a great idea. Just doesn't work.
