this stuff is the same as afrin except higher priced. you can't take this stuff for more than 3 days either. you can buy generic afrin for a couple of bucks. don't waste your money.

Contrary to comments from other posters, Zicam Extreme Congestion Relief DOES NOT CONTAIN ZINC. Some of Zicam's other products do, but this one does not. The active ingredient is Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride. The inactive ingredients are alkoxylated diester. aloe barbadensis gel. benzalkonium chloride. benzyl alcohol. disodium EDTA. disodium phosphate. glycerin. hydroxyethylcellulose. hydroxylated lecithin. monosodium phosphate. and purified water.

This is a great product, but make sure you follow the directions and don't use it for more than three days.

As an extreme allergy sufferer, I have spent a lot of my life attempting to breathe through clogged nostrils. I have tried many other nasal sprays and pills, (even prescription strength medicine) and nothing has worked like this. I had forgotten how great it feels to breathe clearly through both nostrils!!! This Zicam spray clears me up in about 10-15 seconds, and lasts a very long time. I have not suffered any adverse effects from using this product, and I highly recommend it to anyone suffering from sinus related breathing problems!

I've had a bad head cold for over a day now - unable to breathe out of nose for 24 hours. I've taken Advil cold and sinus, Tylenol cold pills, and the liquid stuff - nothing worked.

My co-worker recommend I get this and ... WOW after 10 seconds my nose is completely clear. There is no "burning" or stinging but it is a slight tingling sensation - like breathing cold air out of the fridge. It works instantly.

I had a sinus headache for DAYS and was just congested and miserable. I considered Mucinex D but I knew it would make me feel hyper and loopy or else drugged out of my mind. Zyrtec puts me on a certifiable psychadelic trip...so that was out. But I knew if I didn't get rid of the congestion in my nose and sinuses and clear what was running down the back of my throat, I was a goner and I'd have the headache until spring. So I shucked out the $9 and got the extreme congestion relief. Like everyone else said, it was amazing. Immediately...and I mean IMMEDIATELY...I could breathe, probably for the first time in a LONG time. I still can and it's 15 hours later. Normally I take 2 benadryl before bed but when I am very congested it doesn't cut it. I recommend this heartily. There was absolutely NONE of the edgy, hyper or drugged side effects like I normally get from cold or sinus meds. Be warned though...sniffing it in deeply is...um...intense. But it works!!!!

I am very impressed with Zicam Extreme Congestion Relief. Usually, sudafed doesn't do much for me, so I figured I would give this a shot. Within 3-5 minutes I'm breathing clearly from both nostrils (a novelty for me) and it lasts for hours on end. Phenomenal. I highly recommend.

This product works, even if it is only a placebo it does seem to reduce the length and severity of my colds.

As for the supposedly dangerous Zinc Gloconate. Let me start off by saying that the lawsuits were not successful, they were merely settled out of court. Something that a company will tend to do in order to avoid bad press for their product. Zicam is a harmless gel with neutral ph, and in the body it breaks down to Zinc Ions and gluconate, a harmless compound already found within the body. After the case the FDA still felt it was more than safe enough to sell.

Given that most of the plantiffs were at an age where asnosmia starts to develope naturally and that they tended to report a burning sensation upon using the product, I can speculate that they did not follow the instructions and caused trauma to their nose.

At any rate I have used this with no adverse side effects and it seems to work.

What a wonderful homeopathic option for head colds and congestion. My whole family is sold on this product. Thanks, mom, for turning me onto this stuff.

I am usually afflicted by a cold that quickly runs its course into bronchitis or pneumonia within a week or two, knocking me out for 3 weeks min with a horrible cough. Well we are going on a cruise in a few weeks, and my son got sick, so at the advice of some friends I spent the $10 got the nasal swabs, and although I have some mild congestion and an occassional small cough( i mean like 2 times a day), since starting this Weds, its Sunday my cold has not progressed and a simple runny nose is all I have. I can honestly say that without Zicam I would have been out of work a couple days by now and to the doc, I will use this anytime I feel a cold coming on. I didnt expect a cure all, and still have some very very mild symptoms, but hey its a heck of alot better then being very sick, and coughing more like barking for 2-3 weeks. This stuff is great.

I was referred to this product by a friend. She kept raving about it and then I started hearing other friends talking about it. So I picked some up at my local pharmacy and gave it a spray.

Needless to say, this stuff is absolutely amazing! COMPLETE relief for 12 hours. I took it 10 mintues before I went to bed and didn't have any problems all night long.

If you are tired of using the other products, go for something all natural with aloe vera and give this a squirt!
