I started using Zicam nasal gel COLD REMEDY a few years ago. If you read the instructions, and use it properly, I've never met anyone it didn't work for. If you use it improperly, you probably end up with issues like the very small percentage of people I hear whining about how they lost sense of smell, or other issues. Don't shoot it up inside your nose, read the instructions, start off using small amounts like anything new, until you get past the learning curve and your body will tell you if it works or it doesn't.

HOMEOPATHIC is the key phrase here regarding the Zicam product.

I've found nothing that works as well with NO SIDE EFFECTS as Zicam Seasonal Allergy Relief. No jitters, doesn't keep you up at night, doesn't make you tired and drowsy, it just works. When the pollen count is really high I have to supplement with a Sudafed, but for most of the season it works just fine all by itself. Did I mention, no steroids.

Sometimes I use it every 4-hours, other times once in the morning and once at night.

I have used Zicam for years, and recommended it to many people. To the best of my knowledge it has worked every time anyone tried it. It is a cure for a cold. It isn't a cure for allergies. I have used it when I had a full blown cold and it is gone in about 2-3 days. I have also used it when I felt a cold coming on and never get the cold. Use as directed is all I have to say, other than it is the cure for the common cold. The Zicam I use is in a red/orange box.

Zicam Allergy Relief appears to relieve sinus pressure and nasal congestion without drowziness side effects. For someone whom even Tylenol puts to sleep, this is a big plus in the daytime hours. I use it only when symptomatic and find it effective in short order.

Springtime has always been a drag for me. I get the watery and itchy red eyes, my nose gets all runny and stuffed up, and I feel miserable for weeks and weeks. Allergy pills are fine for the eyes, but they usually do nothing for the nose. Not a fun time, as you can imagine.

So, I picked up ZICAM today. I had used the cold swabs before, which were more than effective when I had bad colds. I was very pleased to find they had a nasal spray (pump) for seasonal allergies. It was time to do something about my nose that was causing me nothing but discomfort.

Soon after the first time I used it, I felt so much better. My nose was almost no longer runny and I felt relief. This surprised me, as I thought it'd take a few days before I'd see some results. Well, I quickly saw and felt relief right after I used it for the first time. You can't even begin to imagine how much better I feel. It's great not having to run to the bathroom every ten minutes for a tissue!

It's very easy to use and it doesn't cause you any discomfort whatsoever. Just follow the easy and clear steps on the box and you'll be in business. It's quick, easy, simple and painless. Trust me, you'll begin to feel its effect shortly after you start and you will feel tons better, even if the problem isn't completely gone (may have different effects on different people). It's best used when your allergies are only beginning, but that doesn't mean it won't help you long after you have them, as I was more than a few weeks into my allergies before I picked this bad boy up.

If you have bad allergies that leaves you with a leaky nose that no pill can cure, try the ZICAM: Season Allergy Relief Nasal Pump. I started using Zicam allergy nasal spray about 4 years ago, and at first I was amazed how well it worked. At that time I had been using NasalCrom which is formulated to block pollen from reaching the membrane of your nose (at least in theory) and is to be used as a prevention aid, not symptom treatment. I wanted something that could relieve the stuffy nose and the itchy eyes, and I liked the sound of "homeopathic," so I gave Zicam a try. The first year I used Zicam, which was very expensive at the time, I liked it a lot as it made my hay fever more tolerable.

But it simply stopped working the second year. I bought two fresh bottles (since each contains only 0.5 oz. and runs out rather quickly) but got no relief this time around. I did not give up and tried again last year, but once again, there was simply no effect on my hay fever at all. I became very disappointed.

I still recommend you give this a try and see if it works for you. I also recommend you try NasalCrom, which is not homeopathic but can help prevent the symptoms. Just remember to start using NasalCrom two weeks *BEFORE* your hay fever symptoms first appear.

Zicam does work but after temporarily losing my sense of smell from using the nasal gel don't take a chance. My ENT doc prescribed a short course of steroids which helped but, after around 4 years, my sense of smell has never been the same. I still sometimes smell things which are not there, am sensitive to strong smell which I will smell long after the source is gone. Very scary and I am a medical professional.

I started using Zicam a week ago (Sunday, June 26, 2005). It seemed to help at first. Then I started getting a sore throat. The next day, blood was dripping out of my nose. I was using the product exactly as instructed on the box. I immediately stopped using Zicam. The makers of Zicam claim there are no side effects. Then why did I find on the internet that there are various class action lawsuits against them for loss of smell and nerve damage to the nose? They should at least be honest and put a warning on the label. Use it if you want, but please be aware of the possible side effects.

I did receive allergy relief from this product. However, I got a bloody nose after using it for three days. I am not prone to bloody noses, so I believe it was from using this product. Although the bleeding was not excessive, I stopped use immediately. The bleeding stopped after two days.
