Best Spray Decongestant on Earth, January 8, 2007
Having just had a sinus infection, I just got to use the prescription stuff (Nasonex [steroidal spray] + Astelin [pharmacy-strength decongestant]). That combo worked, to a point. The Nasonex definitely did its job (decrease inflammation), and the Astelin worked. But this stuff is actually better! Not only does it completely clear out my sinuses in a minute or two, they are literally clearer than they ever have been. I have had to use strips to sleep for years. With this stuff, I don't need them.
I have not checked to see if the active ingredient is named in some witches brew digest, but this is amazing. And the Aloe seems to make a difference: the pharma version left a serious burn. This stuff does not!

Please don't be fooled by this product! It's dangerous..., April 13, 2009
I also have chronic sinus issues (sinusitis, etc). When I saw that Zicam, a brand known for touting it's "homeopathic" products, was making a congestion relief spray I was very optimistic. Long ago I learned that the Afrin-type nasal sprays were bad for you, because of the rebound effect they cause. Many people get terrribly addicted to these sprays because when the effect wears off the chemical ingredient leaves your nasal passages even more swollen then they were before you took it. Which, of course, makes you keep reaching for the bottle again and again. But I assumed (and you know what happens when you assume...) that if this spray was from Zicam then it must be ok. I started taking this spray with my current sinus infection, and it works great at first. But then I've noticed that my congestion got to be so bad that even my prescription medications which normally work wonders were not effective. Then I did a Google search on the active ingredient in the Zicam Extreme Congestion spray (Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride)...turns out it is the exact same ingredient as Afrin and all the rest. Bad news, stay away from it. Do yourself a favor and do not use this product. If you absolutely have to use it, read the instructions very carefully...it says do not use the product for more than 3 days. This is really important, if you overuse it you can easily become addicted. You're better off just not touching the stuff to begin with...

Amazing relief!!, October 14, 2007
Having had sinus problems for years, I have had only limited success with both prescription and non-presciption remedies over the years until a friend recommended Zicam Extreme Congestion Relief Nasal Spray to me. With a couple of soothing blasts in each nostril, I can blow my nose once and have free breathing for upwards of 12 hours! This has allowed for much better sleep, and for myself, avoided colds over this past year since I have used this product. The cost may seem high, but comparing the less effective products to this and combining that to the relief that I have received from using this product, I have found this to be a cost effective way of finding relief. I have heard of reports that some users report a loss of smell, but I have not experienced that, and suffer from no side effects from using this product.
