5.0 out of 5 stars Fun little RC boat!
Purchased from HorizonHobby 79$.
Used in a pool on vacation last weekend and it was a blast! Speed control is great. No reverse but it turns on a dime, 2-3' radius. The hull is designed like a jet ski. Fast, maneuverable, quiet and self righting. Battery life was great ~20 min. I used the standard battery and an accessory 7 cell larger battery(8.4V 1000mah NIMH...

2.0 out of 5 stars ZigZag Racer 3: One and Done
Bought 2 zig zag racer 3 RC boats. After one running, one boat needed a new propeller. Purchased and replaced fairly easily. The second boat stopped working. The motor showed corrosion. The screws rusted. The boat controls would not control the boat. Will see how supportive customer service and repair is at Horizon Hobby. Oh yea, I get to pay shipping to have them...

Zero for two!

Addendum: Horizon Hobby generously has replaced both boats under warranty. From now on I will use foam tape (hockey tape) along the seam of the boat to hopefully decrease any water that will get into the interior.

First - get yourself some clear Hockey tape. It's waterproof, applies with ease and removes without a single trace. We use the tape to seal the seams between the canopy and the hull. Eventhough everything seems pretty well sealed - why chance it.......

I bought one of these and we had a lot of fun running it around with my 7YO twins at a local lake.
We enjoyed it so much that we bought a second one. Unfortunately when we took the new boat to the lake the old one ran for about 10 minutes and it started to act odd. We brought it in and the propeller was cracked in several places and was unable to provide proper power to move the boat forward. The boat never grounded or struck anything that we were aware of.

The second boat worked well for the first 10 minutes or so. We then needed to recharge the battery...about 30-40 minutes later we took the second boat out again for another run. It ran for about 5 minutes then started cutting out. It would run at high speed then simply cut out....over and over. The battery was then swapped out with the battery from boat #1 and it was doing the same thing - run for a minute then cut out.....still trying to figure out what's wrong, The boats are quite a bit of fun while they worked....I can only hope that I can figure this out and get back to running like crazy around he lake....

Fast, maneuverable, quiet and self righting. Battery life was great ~20 min. I used the standard battery and an accessory 7 cell larger battery(8.4V 1000mah NIMH - airplane batteries with mini tamiya connectors ~20$ on the internet ). THIS ONLY COMES WITH A DC CAR CHARGER WHICH IS ANNOYING! Charging them in my truck on the way to our destination took 15-20 min/battery with repeaking. Definitely get the AC charger accessory so you can charge on a wall plug. I have an AC Twin Peak charger already with standard Tamiya and deans adaptors so I just got 3$ Tamiya Female to Mini Tamiya Female Adapters by E-flite from HorizonHobby and it charges great. [...]

The build of the boat seems average but for the money this is an excellent RC Boat. Careful with the prop and rudder and avoid shallow water. There is an undocumented small Styrofoam drain plug that needs to be in place for use and can be removed to drain any water from the inner hull. Don't throw this out if you find it out when you first open the box. There is an extra plug and prop in the parts bag. I drain the boat and let it dry out before storing to hinder corrosion. Keep the box for storage.

The balls that come with the boat are great for pool toys and juggling but I doubt I will ever use them as buoys and water soccer. I have not used the supplied front boat bracket yet but I WILL surely use this set up as a rescue boat for my SuperVee 27. THIS IS THE PERFECT RESCUE BOAT. Almost too perfect since it performs so well I may not use my SuperVee as much.

Got water logged and stop running after 10 minutes in the water. I thought it must have ruined the moter as that is the only part that is not water proof. I ordered a new motor but of course the old motor workd fine and it was the circuit board that was totally sealed from moisture. I hope to get a new boat as it was only a month old when this happened.....

Very fast - fastest boat I have found under $200. Quick - super responsive - turns on a dime. Lots of fun for little and big kids. Also great for goose control on the lake.Zig Zag Racer 3 RTR: Red

Fastest with the optional 8.4v 900mAh NiMh battery Vortex Extreme High Power 8.4v 900mAh NiMh Battery

This is my SECOND Zig Zag Racer 3. Always run with the drain plug IN (that way if the battery runs down it just floats to shore).
