When Robert Locke author of Zigger the Tiger Never Gets Angry sent me a free copy of his book and asked me to write an honest review of this children's story I was both flattered and nervous. Having raised several children of my own I knew the kind of stories young children love and wondered how someone like Robert who had always written on serious subjects such as ADHD would now rise to the challenge of writing a story for young children. I shouldn't have worried. Robert has managed to create a likeable tiger that children will enjoy being introduced to and they will be left wanting to hear more about Zigger and his adventures.
The Story Itself
Zigger the Tiger Never Gets Angry is a cute children's story with a valuable lesson for children who have difficulty controlling their temper and for parents looking for ways to help them.
As a parent, you know that children who are tired or face uncomfortable situations often don't know how to handle their feeling and often resort to angry meltdowns as a way of dealing with their feelings.
Zigger the tiger has exactly the same problem and his anger is creating quite a disturbance for the entire jungle until his wise mother steps in and helps her son discover new and more acceptable ways of dealing with his anger.
Children will find the idea of basketball playing tigers with smart phones amusing while being able to relate with Ziggers struggles to learn to control his temper. Children will enjoy learning that others share their angry feelings and feel good learning that there are ways to make themselves less angry.
This is a fun story for children with an important lesson and it is likely to become a story your children will want to hear again and again.

This is a fantastic kids book with a cute story, great writing and adorable pictures. I highly recommend this for kids as a bedtime story or a story to read to your child if there has been a behavior problem with temper tantrums.

A rememberable book. It teaches ways a kid or person can calm down once angry or provoked. Ziger learns his lesson and a nice moral told.

It's cute how mom helps him realize that others have anger issues also. I liked how he was given a concrete way to deal with it.
