life saver for one with a large jaw...,
By Mamori (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Zilactin-B Canker Sore Gel, 0.25Oz (Health and Beauty)
As one who suffers from chronic canker sores, this stuff makes life a lot easier.
Just as the description reads, it lasts about 6 hours, provided that you don't pick at it... Like most direct application medicines, it will sting like crazy when you put it on...

Great product. Better than Kanka, Cank-X and natural remedies (just my opinion),
This review is from: Zilactin-B Canker Sore Gel, 0.25Oz (Health and Beauty)
This is a great product for canker sores. It's the only one that actually creates a protective layer over your canker sore and STAYS there. I tried Canker-X, Kanka, and Abrevia. Canker-X is so liquidy, it never dries up and ends up all over your mouth. Then the pain comes back in a few minutes. Canker-X claims to create a protective layer, but it doesn't. Kanka hurts a bunch, numbs your sore, and makes an attempt at producing a covering while getting all over your mouth. I feel like Zilactin-B is even better than home remedies such as hydrogen peroxide, aloe vera juice, baking soda, and salt. Why do I say this? Because Zilactin-B's patented bio-adhesive protective layer is that effective and it keeps me feeling great all day! You can even see it as it covers your sore. It's dark purple in color and dries up in a slightly lighter color. It's not a mystery like the other brands. I tried the home remedies and they hurt a lot. They also don't do anything about the continual pain I experience throughout the day. Zilactin-B fixed all that and now I can actually do stuff and focus on things without having a throbbing pain in my lip. Just one warning, if the protective layers comes off from picking at it or if you try to eat, your sore may bleed. In my opinion, this was a good thing. I'm no Doctor, but I think the fact that blood is being sent to my sore means it's in the healing process and repairing the damage.
To sum it up.... Pros: Colored and thick substance so you can see exactly where you are applying it to - Keep it dried for a minute after applying and it dries up nicely - You can see the protective layer - Protective layer prevents further irritation - Has medicated pain reliever in it - Protective layer lasts up to 6 hours, sometimes longer Cons: Stings when you apply it, but not as bad as putting salt, baking soda or Kanka directly on it. Luckily you only need to apply it maybe 2-3 times a day at the most.

Best liquid cover canker product,
By
This review is from: Zilactin-B Canker Sore Gel, 0.25Oz (Health and Beauty)
I have suffered from canker sores for years and as far as liquid cover goes, this is the best. I have tried others, but, Zilactin B is the only one that stays on long enough to get some measurable relief. A friend of mine recommended it when I was frustrated with using Orajel and the like and I love it. I do agree that the Canker Cover is the best canker product for sores inside your mouth, but, when you have sores on your lips, the canker cover just isn't practical and a liquid cover option is best, zilactin b works best.
