Zildjian ZBT 8-Inch Splash Cymbal

Based on the sound of my 10" ZBT splash (ASIN B0002IP47Y) I added this 8" to my kit and am more than pleased. It has the same near instant decay and projection, and the expected higher pitch. Frankly I am surprised by the sound and performance of this cymbal since I am more of an Avedis fan and viewed the ZBT series as entry level cymbals.

This cymbal is an affordable way to add a cutting splash to your kit.

I tried 5 different 8 inch splashes. The Zildjian ZBT's are the, "Bottom of the line" of the Zildjian brand. That said, my drums are surrounded by Zildjian Z-3's, one of their top models. I hit the K, ZHT, ZXT, and for the heck of it, a ZBT. I want a really fast decay out of an 8 inch, but it must cut. I must have hit each cymbal 10 times. I bought the ZBT. I can't believe how good this inexpensive little splash sounds. I would have gone with the K, but for another $110.00, and for what I use an 8" splash for, that would have been just dumb.
Surprised, shocked, and really happy with this little cymbal.
For the record, Always hit any cymbal, or at least listen to say a U Tube video of how different cymbals sound, before making a decision. Each cymbal has it's own tone, even within the same brand, and model.
It's as personal to taste's as which cigar, or wine you prefer. If you like the sound, buy it.

Zildjian makes the finest cymbals and this small splash is no exception. While the size amd thickness causes it to decay quickly, it does the job in highlighting the conclusion of a musical selection with just the right pitch and "splash". I highly recommend it for that purpose.

The only cymbal I was missing. Now I have a pretty decent set, with every cymbal from zildjian. Buy this one, or if you have the chance (and the means, of course) some of the top series, they won't dissapoint you!

This cymbal is a great way to add a little bit of color to your drumming, but what makes it stand out from the competition is how affordable it is. It is easily the highest quality cymbal available for the price. The volume and quality of sound is hard to believe coming from such a small cymbal, and its size allows it to be added to a drum set without too much rearranging. Perfect for someone who wants to expand the range of cymbals they use.
