5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised!, January 12, 2012

Ok I have severe acne - the type where you don't just get pimples, I get painful lil nodules under the skin (concentrated on and around my forehead) that take forever to reach the surface and like to leave scars (even if you don't pop them!). I have used a number of prescription creams and pills. I've even tried that little zapit machine which did nothing for my severe acne. I did find success with a prescription antibiotic however i stopped taking it after 2 years because I didn't want to be come immune to it. I came across this product and saw the reviews - I figured for $8 bucks it was worth a shot. I ordered on December 8, 2011 and am writing this review on January 12, 2012. I am happy to report that my acne outbreaks (which occur weekly like clockwork!) have greatly subsided! I noticed that my pimples/nodules were less and less frequent within a couple weeks of taking this, yet they still appeared. So I wasn't quite ready to claim success just yet. But now after a month, I've completed my first bump-free week and I feel like I'm ready to go run around naked in the snow! Now to be fair: I do wash my face with an organic tea-tree oil face wash, and I do use tea-tree oil on my face - but I've done that for months prior to the pills and continue to use them to this day (it definitely works to clean the skin)... So needless to say I'm very pleased with this product. For the customer who complained about having to take pills daily - that's just going to be a part of life dude. I'd rather be taking a zinc supplement like this (which zinc is also recommended to treat a cold and boost your immune system)then take an expensive prescription whose list of side-effects contains "THOUGHTS OF SUICIDE" (WTF?!).. You may also need to change some of your habits/behaviors if you're going to truly take your skin-care seriously. Watch out for coffee - cleanse your face at least 2x per day - use sun-screen - use moisturizer (preferably oil-free) - don't touch your face (period! i struggle with this one) - watch your food intake.. the more grease/oil you put in, the more that could potentially come out your face - reduce stress - and don't worry about the acne - look in the mirror and tell yourself "I AM PHOTOGENIC" daily (and believe it) you'll feel much better off....

5.0 out of 5 stars Very effective. 2nd time buyer, July 25, 2011

I had moderate acne on the cheeks and chin area (testosterone based). In the past, regular 50mg zinc from CVS helped tremendously but it tastes like poison and would upset my stomach if I didn't take it with a FULL meal. This product I 'feel' is much better than the CVS one. It doesn't upset my stomach, doesn't taste like poison and has cleared my acne (in conjunction with other products). It also has other ingredients that prevent acne- I didn't research the other ingredients but I have seen them referred to quite often on the acne.org forums. I take one during lunch and one during dinner. I just finished my first bottle and ordered another one yesterday.

I am taking this in combination with B6, a multivitamin and fish oil. I use proactive as my topical treatment. Modified daily habits are - no diary, avoiding foods high in GI and no heavy lifting workouts. My acne is 99% clear- i'm just working on the few red marks now. I just ordered a Glycolic Acid peel off Amazon to help with the red marks (kind of nervous about acid on my face). I started this routine in April of this year and now I am clear and my face is like =]

5.0 out of 5 stars actually works, October 10, 2010

On my third week of taking and I can't believe it works, I was a medium acne guy and tried a bunch of washes and cream as well as tetracyclene and got no results. I was sceptical at first with this stuff but being 6 dollars I thought is give it a try. Now three weeks in I have one little red spot on my neck from a zit that I had before taking the zinc and nothing else. I am still in shock of how quickly and effectively this works. I totally recommend to any one with acne or razor bumps.
