The real secret to good wallpaper removal with DIF is to also buy the Zinsser Scoring tool and the "2986 PaperScraper Wallpaper Remover and Wall Scraper Tool" and use all of them with patience! The secret of the above scraper is that it lies flat parallel to the walpaper and you aren't constantly pusing into the wallboard and damaging it. Such an inexpensive tool for a high quality result!

After reading some of the negative reviews on this product I wasn't so sure I should buy it. After using my own judgement and purchasing two bottles of it I was glad I made the right decision. It made removing wallpaper a breeze with no nasty smells or residue left behind. I just sprayed it on the wallpaper, waited about 15 to twenty minutes then simply pulled it off the wall. All you really need is patience and the small tool sold here on Amazon that punches holes in the wallpaper so the liquid can penetrate the paper. Just look under wallpaper removal tools or something like that and you will find the tool I'm talking about. One bottle of this product does go a long way but to be on the safe side depending on the size of your project I would suggest buying two bottles. I've used what was left over to remove labels stuck on items and even old scotch tape off of my storm door window. Buy extra and trust me you will find other uses for it as well.

I used this product to remove the wallpaper in my kitchen area. If you use a wallpaper perforator prior to use, this product actually does work.

I'm not sure what type of wallpaper I have, but this stuff clearly had trouble removing it... about all it did was remove the top layer, leaving the gummy glue part still on the wall - removing that required plain old elbow grease (which Amazon doesn't sell). I tried all the other tips - scoring the paper, using vinegar and water, fabric softener and water... all worked about as same as the Zinsser spray. So I'd recommend trying the homemade solutions first before buying this stuff.

I read Amazon reviews for various wallpaper stripping products, and each had their share of horror stories. We took off about 90% of the old wallpaper just by manually pulling/scraping, but it was that remaining stubborn 10% that had me worried and in near tears. Remembering the less than stellar reviews, I reluctantly chose and bought this fast-acting stripper and the scoring tool. Fears were unfounded--it worked like a charm, and now I'm wondering if we shouldn't have started out using it for the entire project. Score gently, spray lightly and wait the prescribed time for good results. It certainly took care of our hard-to-remove pieces easily, and brightened my entire outlook on the whole wallpaper stripping process.

This really worked well to remove my wallpaper. I didn't need the scoring tool; I just sprayed this on, waited a short while, and the paper peeled right off. Results probably depend on the type of paper being removed. Mine is more paper-based (instead of vinyl?) so it seems this product penetrated easily without having to put slits in the wallpaper beforehand.

I read the reviews and decided to try it out along with the Zinsser 2966 PaperTiger Scoring Tool. I followed the instructions and it worked out great. The key is to leave it on for at least 10 minutes to soak in. I used a spackle spreader to remove it. It does take a little arm muscle to scrape but it wasn't that difficult. This product met my expectations and I would definitely purchase it again.
