Editorial Reviews

This 2000 instrumental release on Canis Major Records honors Ken Hoover, a great guitar-maker, and founder of world renowned Zion Guitars. This fantastic mix of solo electric guitar pieces features 13 songs, 7 of them previously unreleased, ranging from Cuban to blues influences, with 'a little help from his friends,' e.g. Alex Acuna, Ric Cua, Alex MacDougall, Phil Madeira, Smitty Price, Harlan Rogers, Mike Sherpa, Bob Tudor, Ron Tutt, Lynn Williams, Spencer Campbell, Dave Coy, Jeff Lams, Ken Lewis, and Mike Mead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album with some rare cuts, August 6, 2009

This review is from: Zion (Audio CD)
If you enjoy the eclectic guitar styles of Phil Keaggy, then this album is a rare gem you'll enjoy. Some of the tracks are released on other collections, but there are several that are original such as a Santana-esque instrumental reworking of the Glass Harp classic Whatever Life Demands. Great album for the collector, grab it if you can get it -- it's out of print.
