This book has bridged the gap between the standard hymns of yesterday to the contemporary song styles of today. It is a compillation of old and new Gospel music that reaches all age categories. I was thrilled to see songs of then and now that I love so much within its pages. Songs like God is here, In The Sanctuary, Glorious, Oh the Glory of His Presence, The Presence of the Lord is Here, Center of My Joy, I Love The Lord, God Is, Here I Am To Worship, What A Mighty God We Serve, Bless That Wonderful Name Of Jesus and the list goes on and on. It not only shows the growth of the Christian African-American Praise and Worship experience from slave time to now, but the influence other cultures had on that growth as well. Some of the great song writers of Gospel music are represented here like Richard Smallwood, Martha Munuzzi, Jessy Dixon, Bill & Gloria Gaither, Tommy Dorsey, Kurt Carr, Kenneth Morris, Andre Crouch, Doris Akers, Dorothy Norwood and Walter Hawkins. In addition to the wonderful songs found between its covers, each song has its foundational scripture reference. If you want to and/or have a Praise and Worship team for your church, this book is one of the vital tools you need to empower them to be effective leaders and members of that team.

I had been told about the Zion music books by a friend and it has met every expectation. I look forward to singing songs from this year for many years to come.

My first copy of this collection of Gospel songs was almost 20 years. Seeing/having a new copy has been a refreashing of faith.
