5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
Purchased 14 of these mounts recently for a doctors office. They are very well crafted and will hold a normal size computer case with no problems. It comes with 10 screws that mount into the desk that hold the computer with no effort. That was one of my main concerns when purchasing these was the stability of them and they hold wonderfully. Nice little handle is included...

I purchased this based upon all the great reviews, as I really wanted to get my PC off the floor. It was easy to install so no problems there. But when I set the PC in the "L" shaped shelf, the weight of the PC caused the whole "L" bracket to lean at an angle. So although it does hold the PC off the floor, it really looks bad (like cr*p)as the bracket cannot hold the PC straight up and down... but rather crooked at about 15 degrees. There are a couple screws that hold the "L" bracket to the desk mount (the top part you see in the picture). Unfortunately the design of these screw holes are too close together to have leverage and to keep the bracket straight... no matter how hard you tighten them. I am going to buy a strap to wrap around the PC and attach to the mount; hopefully that will pull the PC vertical so it looks better. Otherwise, I'll remove it and buy a different mount or just go back to the floor and forget the whole idea. I have an IBM x205 stock, no frills. Maybe it's heavier than other PCs, but Com'on! This was a waste of money!

The product arrived well packaged and on time. It is constructed of solid components, was a breeze to assemble, functions well and is easy to adjust. I'm using mine to hold a digital audio interface, which is taller than an average tower, but thinner, as well as a 1TB external hard drive. The range of motion was a big factor for me as I need to get to the back of my interface to make adjustments and switch cables. I also have it mounted to a slide-out desk drawer, which wasn't a problem with a sturdy desk. Note: If you're going to do this, measure your slide-out drawer to ensure the mount plate will fit. You'll need about 14". You should also know the thickness of your drawer; the mounting screws are about 3/4" and you don't want them poking through your drawer. Again, only do this if you're confident your slide-out drawer is securely mounted to the desk and can handle the extra weight. By doing this, I can easily slide my interface completely out, rotate it fully, slide it back and have it nicely tucked away. As others have noted, the only part of the assembly that requires any thought is which direction you wish your shelf to open, and this is clearly shown in the directions. I'd also recommend drilling some pilot holes so the screws, which are self-tapping, easily screw completely into your desk. I'm very happy with my purchase, particularly that anything else out there like this product costs significantly more. I highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to get your CPU off the floor., July 14, 2011

When I got this item from X-treme Geek, I thought it looked a little complicated and oversized (heavy). However, it turned out to be easy to assemble and works great. I saw in some other reviews about a "leaning " problem. So, paying close attention to details, I found that the vertical bracket holes where the four allen screws attach it, are biased to make the vertical bracket kick in toward the CPU. If you don't catch this, you will put the bracket on reversed and the CPU will lean at an angle. As others have stated, it slides and spins to gain easy access to the back and then move it out of the way. Excelent product for the right price and X-treme Geek was very fast.

3.0 out of 5 stars It Works, May 5, 2011

This review is from: Ziotek CPU Holder, Under Desk Mount, Cs-11 (Electronics)
Overall the mount seems to work fine, though it hangs at a little bit of an angle. Its not enough to damage or hinder the operation of the PC, it just looks a little lop-sided. Also, if you intend to mount this under a metal desk, run out to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up some "self-piloting" screws. The hardware included is not ideal for mounting in metal, and at less than $2.00, the self-piloting screws are well worth it. Other than that I like how it slides out and pivots, giving access to the cables behind the PC. There is even a little handle to use to slide or turn. The slide out is ball-bearings, the pivot seems to be a simple pivot. Both work well, though the pivot is a little tight. In summary, the mount would get 5 stars if it could hang straight.

4.0 out of 5 stars simple and inexpensive, January 30, 2011
This review is from: Ziotek CPU Holder, Under Desk Mount, Cs-11 (Electronics)
Simple and inexpensive, does just was advertises. I there is an adjustment handle in the back that I wish was more towards the front to make it easier to move around but still does the job nicely.

This gets the PC off the floor and desktop. Also, for a meeting room table. The face of the computer will be flush with the tabletop. The drawer feature allows better access to the back of the computer without disassembly of any bracket support.

I purchased two units and I'm very happy with my order. This is a very well made item, with no skimping on quality. The unit is made of mostly thick gauge metal stampings, and very easy to put together. I would highly recommend this product.
