This useful addition to Zircon's popular line of handy job site gadgetry is a great tool for any worker with a questionable short-term memory. The built-in digital voice recorder can save up to 20 seconds of information, ensuring that your cuts match your original measurements every time. While the sound quality isn't designed to impress audiophiles, this is carpentry, not the New York Philharmonic Orchestra; we think the Repeater sounds just fine considering its intended use. The tape measure itself is equal to most we've tried, and we had no problems. While the Repeater may not be the best buy for a carpenter with a photographic memory (a creature we have yet to meet), we think it's a great timesaving idea for the rest of us. --Brian Trinen

No self-respecting carpenter would be caught dead with this ruler, but for the rest of us folks with only two hands and a short memory it works! Recording device does create weight and restricts ability for measuring in tight quarters. Over-all it rates high on the handiness scale. Good gift item.

This is another product that makes you think "How did I manage to survive without it ?". No more pieces of paper with mysterious notes, no more "i guess it was...". Though I think it should be able to record a larger number of entries this is a must have tool, whether you are a professional or not.

I bought one of these tape measures a week ago and aside from a less than perfect sound quality,which I can live with,I was happy.That is until yesterday when I noticed the tape or blade was starting to wrinkle up and it could'nt even be shut unless I bent it back to shape.Now I have to go out and get a replacement blade for a brand new 30 dollar tape measure.Is that right?It seems to me like they tried to save a little money and compramised their product.The bottom line is for a tape measure that dosen't sound very good or work very long you would be better off to spend you hard earned money elsewere.
