We used this to hang shelves in our closet and pantry. the light certainly goes further than a foot. our closet was 10ft and it went around the corner to the side wall too. when I used it for hanging pictures, the room was too bright, but it was ok when I darkened it down. My husband said that for the price, no-one can make a laser that does a 360 degree, that type costs 10 times what this does. I think this works great for the money

Works extreamly well when trying to hang photos and paintings. Compact design but works well. 5 Stars for Zircon on this must have for all toolboxes.

This Laser ball is very easy to use, it will stick anywhere. Works in any direction even works upside down for those ceiling jobs. The only thing I do not like is the type of batteries it uses, but then again they do last a long time.

can't complain, it does the job, and was very inexpensive....though the ball configuration isn't' the best, i like a linear setup better

What The Heck Were They Thinking?!,
This review is from: Zircon LaserBall 360 Wall-Mounted Laser Level (Tools & Home Improvement)
I got one of these little gizmos as a "giveaway" in a stud finder package. I thought it might come in handy since it's very compact and easily transportable. Unfortunately, it was apparently designed by people who never use a laser level on a wall. Most reliable levels have ways to hold the level on the wall using suction or velcro. This one uses an adhesive disc. The assumption is that you know exactly where you plan to put the level on the wall, both in height and length. Well, if you're using an adhesive disc, you have only one shot to get the placement right. If you've mismeasured, then you have to peel the disc off and put on another. Not much of a problem if you have an unlimited supply of discs. However, this thing comes with six. If you are good enough to use only one per job, then you're out after only six placements. Have you tried to find replacement discs anywhere? I can't find them online (even here on Amazon where you buy the device) and Zircon doesn't sell them from their website (although you can call their Customer Service and order more). No enclosed price list or order form. It makes you wonder if the discs will eventually cost more than this gizmo.
If you need a serious laser level that you can move without it costing you money, consider something like the Titan 15105 4-in-1 or the Strait-Line 6041101CD LL120 (Amazon sells these). These use suction which is much easier to move around for adjustments. If you like the cute blue ball, I hope you don't have a lot of levelling to do.

I used this tool within minutes of receiving it. It works great, with the exception being the rotation ball isn't completely stable. That just means you have to be careful not to touch the wall too hard while hanging things. Also, it adheres to the wall with 3m tape, so don't press against the wall too hard or it will remove the paper layer form the drywall.

The laser ball shuts out strong sharp red laser beam. I could not say the laser beam will be easy to be seen under sunshine. But I doubt any house will be so bright like under the sunshine. Under normal room light (during day time), the laser beam is so strong to draw a clear non-stop red line across a 25 feet wall (could be even longer range, but limited by my house wall length). The laser ball has bubble level (in 0, 90, 180, 270 degree) to ensure the laser beam is in good level (or in good vertical) position. The laser ball uses LR44 button battery. LR44 battery is a very common button battery that is easy to get at low price. (for example, $5 to get 10 LR44 button batteries in one package.)
This is definitely a "need-to-have" tool for any family.

Works for a year,

This is a great product for short term use. It works very well to hang pictures etc.
The problem I have with this product is that in about an year, liquid inside evaporated leaving a big bubble. Now it is pretty useless since the bubble inside is too big to align it well. I have given it two stars because I would expect a bit longer life for this product. It explains why the warranty is for only one year.

This item is pretty worthless. It has a very weak laser, cheaply made and doesn't project a good line at all.
