These beans were tough and were bitter to the taste. I cooked them much longer than required, hoping to tenderize them. Not! Maybe it's just a tough-skinned bean. Or maybe they have been sitting around too long. I don't know. All I know is my wife and I did not like them and threw away the remaining bag.
