Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The racing dice game. Includes 5 dice, travel bag, dice cup, scoresheet and go500 Rules. Ages 6 and up, 1 or more players. Go500 is a round-the-table dice game for 2-6 players. Players take turns rolling the dice to rack up miles, trying to be the first to 500. All ages can play, but younger kids may need a little help adding and subtracting miles as they (virtually) move their car around the track. Experience the thrill of racing action. It's a race to 500 miles and the first driver there pulls into victory lane. But to get there you'll have to avoid crashes, pit stops, flat tires, caution lights and the dreaded black flag. You can almost smell the rubber when the racing action heats up. Playing tips, keep your eye on the power die - if you see a 50, take it and run. Pay attention to where you are in the race - if you’re behind, you might want to play a bit more aggresively.

This is a great game that the whole family enjoyed. From my 6 year old
son, my 11 year old game loving daughter, to my two anti social teenager
daughters and my husband and I. It is very easy to play. Because of the
luck of the dice, everyone has an equal shot at winning the game.

Go500 Racing Car Dice Game is a simple "push your luck" dice game for up to 6 players.

What you get:
9 polyhedral (12 sided) dice. These are well made, easy to read dice that come in multiple colors-each color serves a different purpose in the game.

Small rules folder. The rules are presented in a colorful brief format designed to make learning the game fast and easy. The rules are not crystal clear, but the game is so simple that you should be able to figure things out without too much trouble.

Scorepad. Excessively large colorful scorepad looks cool, but its use is not intuitive and its use not explained in the rules. Very clunky and ineffective when a player is forced to lose points. Use ordinary paper and pencil instead.

Dice Cup. Very nice large sturdy cup ensures random results and helps prevent dice from rolling out of control.

Storage Bag. Leatherette cinch-top bag holds the dice and rules well in a compact travel package. Doesn't really hold the scorepad, though.

Box. Overpackaged, hard to open box of air. Discard right away.

How to Play:
Players roll 7 dice in an effort to accumulate as many points (miles) as possible. Most of these dice (black) show numbers from 0 to 25. One of the dice (white) shows colored flags instead of numbers, and 9 of the 12 possible results (green flags) permit a player to continue rolling the mileage dice after setting aside those he likes. If a black flag comes up on this die, a player's turn is ended and all points accumulated this turn are lost. If a red or yellow flag comes up, additional dice are rolled that modify players' totals. Players can lose some points, and other players in the game may be affected as well.

This game teaches statistics relating to random chance and risk reward scenarios and of course basic math skills. I highly recommend this game. My 5 year old son loves it. He plays more conservative than I do and ends up winning a majority of the time, what can I say I am more of a vegas odds gambler than he is.

This game was more complicated than I expected. We didn't have the patience to fully learn the rules because my nine year old son was eager to play. We sort of improvised. Just don't expect to open it and start playing right away.

So I bought this game because it was super cheap. I found out though that this is one of those instances that I got way more than I payed for.

The fun factor for this one is at least a 10. I have played it with my parents as well as my close friends and we all very much enjoyed it.

I can not comment on the educational value of the toy other than if you are score keeper you need to be able to add and subtract three digit numbers easily or you may end up behind on the record sheet.

I would say overall it is a rather durable product unless you lose the dice. If you misplace a die the game would be done for. One thing I have found that makes it easier to keep the dice in the cup and the bag that come in the package, is to place the bag over the cup so that when you are holding the bag by the strings the cup is upside-down.

This is the only way I managed not to lose the dice the one time I took it traveling. At first I did not do this and had a scare when I opened the bag and could only find 4 dice. Luckily the rest of them were in the bottom of my duffel bag.

Overall this is a very entertaining game and it can be very revealing. You quickly learn which of your playmates is a risk taker and which is the slow and steady type.
