I have had this for a number of years ?5 or so. I am a watch junkie and go through them like water. This one is a consumate favorite and one I go back to all the time. I have it in a unique orange band orange face combination that I bought elsewhere. It wears like iron and shows no signs of wear at all, which is huge for me. It keeps perfect time always even months after not wearing it, date function needs adjusting but that is normal with fluctuating days in the month. The band is short so be aware if you have a large wrist this may be very close for you I have a small to average wrist and it fits perfectly but only has 3 holes to spare. Everytime I bash the crystal I look down anticipating a scratch or worse, and it has never reflected the amount of beatings it takes, a simple wipe with my shirt and the crystal reveals a perfect look. I am not sure what the material is as no one says, it wears like saphire to me but never chips on edges more similar to a hardlex or mineral crystal. I almost wish they would disclose more crystal details so I can source other designs with the same hardwearing durable characteristics. It is a medium size case similar to more traditional adventurer style, very easy to read minimal illumination at night not like a Lum-tec or Luminox, but plenty to get you through a movie or other dark event, not an all-night adventure though without charging the lume.
Buttons are plenty firm so the chrono never accidentally starts, at the same time they are easy enough to use that they fucntion accurately for measuring most activities.
The stainless case had a polished finish on the sides, a brushed finish on top plate, and then an engraved polished fixed bezel. The case wears awesome, other than slight scratches on the polished sides close to wrist and I mean slight as in not visible with out thorough inspection, I can wipe this watch down and it would pass as new after 5 years of intermitent use and really 1 solid year of daily use.

If you are looking for a great watch that looks and feels like a luxury timepiece this is the one, the Desert Master has all of the fine qualities of a Swiss movement, hard scratch resistant crystal, long wearing comfortable case, a functioning date window and chronograph, as well as a 330ft WR rating which I have tested to 30 ft regularly and rough ocean and pool usage with no signs of anything other than a quality sport watch type WR. Buy with confidence, and be ready to accept compliments.
