I saw the music video for the energetic dance tune "I Believe" from ZOEgirl's self-titled debut of 2000 and decided to check out the group. I'm a Christian and a big fan of Christian music, but instead of songs that you'd hear in church, the contemporary Christian hits on this disc are hardly traditional hymns.

The aforementioned "I Believe" along with "Anything Is Possible" and "Suddenly", which are the first three songs on the disc, are funky tunes you can groove to.

"Give Me One Reason" is a slow ballad that proclaims a girl's love for God is more important than a girl's love for her boyfriend ("Boy, I still long for your embrace/But what I've found in God, oh it could never ever be replaced").

"Living For You" is a praise song that reminds me of something Point Of Grace would sing ("I wanna see your face/I wanna speak your name/I wanna tell the whole world how my life has changed").

"No You" and "Little Did I Know" remind us that God is always with us. (From "Little Did I Know": "Little did I know that one prayer could reach You/Little did I know that You'd even care".)

"Stop Right There" is a cool song and probably one of my favorites. It's like Christina Aguilera, Christian-style. ("Stop right there/Suddenly temptation's flying everywhere/And you think you've got me down/Well, think again, I'm not your friend/Don't play with me, I'm not your property".)

"Upside Down" and "Live Life" are both fast, fun songs about God saving us from this crazy world. (From "Live Life": "Your mercy and sweetness when I felt so worthless/You broke down my walls and made me see".)

"Constantly" is another soft slow song that cries out to God. ("Lord, don't give up on me, it's You I need/So let Your love rain down upon my soul".)

All in all, if you're a fan of Christian music--or even if you aren't--I encourage you to purchase this CD, or at least listen to a few of the songs. You won't regret it, and maybe they'll even help you get closer to God.

The first time I heard Zoegirl, I got goosebumps. I had just bought a CD Sampler and two of their songs were on there, "I Believe" and "Anything Is Possible" they were the only songs I listened to on that CD. I listened to it over and over again untill I knew all the words. The lyrics are really awesome and a it brings a good Christian message to anyone who listens. The beat goes just great with it. The group members Kristin Swinford, Alisa Girard, and Chrissy Conway wrote or cowrote all of the songs on the album. They are very simala to the Christian Boy Band Plus One. They just might become the next Christian Teen Craze. "Zoe means 'life.' Not just life in general, but the kind of life attained through living according to the will of God in Christ Jesus. We want our lives to be examples of that - being a 'ZOEgirl.'"

I heard ZoeGirl perform one song at Hills Alive in Rapid City SD. I hadn't heard of them before that, but I loved the song they sang. I bought it as soon as the CD came out and I love it! The songs are fast and they put you in a good mood. They're really uplifting and they make you wanna dance. I bought the CD especially for the song "Give Me One Reason" because that song touched my heart because I was in a very similer situation as they wrote in the song. But, if you like pop music and want something energetic this is a very good buy.

This is a pretty good CD. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because some songs werenn't so great. But otherwise, it's pretty cool!!
I would definetely say that you get this CD!

1. "I believe" ***** I love this track. It has a really nice tune to it.

2. "Anything is possible" ***** i LOVE this song! It's great to dance to!!!

3. "Suddenly" ***** This is another goodie. It has a great message to it and I highly recomend it!

4. "Give me one reason" *** This song wasn't that great, but it's not bad. It does have good message.

5. "Living for you" ***** This is my FAVORITE song! I love the chorus!

6. "No you" **** Another good song with a good message.

7. "Little did I know" **** This one is pretty good. I do like the chorus.

8. "Stop right there" ***** This is a great one! I love the lyrics!

9. "Upside down" **** This one is a good song to dance to!!!
I like the one line in it when they shout, "WHO WANTS TO BE A ZILLIONAIR!!!!!

10. "live life" ***** This is a really beautiful song. it has really good lyrics!

11. "Constantly" ** I'm not very much into this song. It has a slow beat to it.

Anyway, I do like this CD a lot, so I would say that whoever read this review should get it! Believe me, It's cool!

I don't have this cd. But I do have Life and Differend Kind of Free, and I love them. I would definetly give them five stars. I have based my judgement on my cds, but not entirely. I've heard some of their songs from this cd and I really like them. So I'm positive that this one is going to be amazing too!!

I used to be pretty bored with christian music thinking 'they are all just boring little songs', then my mom heard about ZOEgirl and when the song came on the radio ('Believe') she turned up the volume and let me listen. The song was so upbeat and inspiring at the same time! Now I own the CD and listen to it all the time. My two favorites are 'Little did I know' and 'Upside down' and I put them on repeat! I guess it's needless to say I like this CD! I think this is a CD many teenage girls would probably get into if they are trying christian music as a pose to the dirty lyrics of some of the alternative music today.

So, many people think that contemporary Christian music is a bunch of dirge songs with mellow melodies. May this album turn those opinions around.

This album is truly a pop album. The first track, "I Believe," is the best and biggest of their hits. It will set your feet a-dancin' and your heart rejoicin' and your mouth singing these praises. Great pop song.

"Anything Is Possible" is also a great song with a fantastic message. Another pop song. Dance tune without sounding to circuit party-ish. The rest of the album is great because this album is not entirely dance tunes. There are some great mid-tempo songs and some beautiful ballads.

I believe this album to be quite pallitable to any listener of pop music. I also think that those who listen to secular pop music could easily enjoy this album.

I've listened to Zoegirl's second album (this is their debut). Personally, I think this self-titled album is the better of the two. Their sophomore effort leaned towards teh urban sound a bit too much compromising the integrity of the music itself. It didn't sound organic; trying too hard instead of letting the music naturally flow.

Give this album a try. It's a great album with a wonderful message.

This album is wonderful! I RARELY listen to Christian music - but my brother sent me this CD - so I gave it a try! Now, I can't get "I believe in God" out of my head! it is such a catchy tune.

There are at least 4 to 5 REALLY good songs on this CD - its not one of those CDs with just one good song. One of the other songs I really like is "No you."

I hope these girls make it HUGE! They do a great job - they compete easily with Britney or Christina. I agree that Zoegirl is a "backstreet boyz" style girl-band. But i love it.

We had the honor of watching them at the Shelby County(IN) Fair touring with Clay Crosse. After the concert closed, I think that more people appreciated there performance the best. That was evident by the number of people (young and old) that were singing and continuosly clapping, and cheering. The music and lyrics in all the songs had different tempos, rythmns, and sounds. We are going to purchase the full CD soon after it hits the market. Oh, if Kristen, Crissy, and Alisa get a chance to read this, many thanks again for taking time to give my wife your autographs.

This is a great CD! I heard "I Believe" on the radio but didn't know any other song. Now I'm wearing the CD out. This music is not your typical "Christian Music". The beats are awesome!! It's great to know you can really rock to great lyrics. It's so safe for all ages. I especially like "Anything Is Possible" and "Living For You". It's like these girls have reached in my soul and read it. A MUST BUY! I highly recommend this one!!!!!!
