5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read and "mic" option is a big plus
The Sabine Zoid is much easier to read and use than my Intelli clip-on tuner was (that one only lasted four month before having a seizure). The Zoid's LCD meter is more stable and I like the red-to-green indicator. Very quick tuning... it picks up on open strings instantly; no need for 12th fret harmonics as with the Intelli. The mic option is a great feature; I can...

1.0 out of 5 stars ZOID Z-100 -A terrible Clip On Tuner
I just dropped this rating down to 1 Star because the useless piece of #@@#$$ does not automatically turn off. At Church today, I had to tune my guitar from the piano because to my horror the battery had gone dead flat on me (after a week of the tuner being accidentally left on).
Because there is no case supplied to protect this tuner, the ON/OFF button can get...

The mic option is a great feature; I can leave the Zoid clipped to my music stand, unless I need to take it along somewhere, and it works just as well with the mic as when clipped on. I was afraid it would be too big, but its no more obstrusive than the Intelli. There's no sympathetic buzzing like the Intelli did either. Its been going on the original battery for well over a year too.

The seller, Musical Instrument Haven, mailed it immediately. I ordered on Thursday and had it on Monday...and no shipping charge! Great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than the Intelli!, September 17, 2009

Back in 2007, I wrote a glowing review of the Intelli IMT500 Backlit Clip Style Tuner. I stand by that review. The Intelli is vastly superior to the Intellitouch PT1 Tuner and one need only go to local jams or picking parties to see how the Intelli and rebranded Intellis have taken over. I've purchased a half-dozen of the Intellis so that I'd have one in each of my regularly used cases. I have not had a chance to try the Intellitouch PT10 Mini Clip-on Chromatic Tuner, but it looks so similar to the Intelli that it's hard not to conclude that Intellitouch had to introduce it to remain viable.

Recently a friend let me try his Zoid. I found that the color changing display was such a helpful aid in tuning that I went out and bought three--one for my most frequently used guitar, one for my practice area, and one for my music partner.

Back in 2007 and up 'till now, the Intelli was a "must have" even (especially?) if one owned an Intellitouch. The Zoid is not like that, that is, I'm not recommending that one replace every Intelli with a Zoid, but if one has neither, I'd give the nod to the Zoid.

5.0 out of 5 stars it's easy and I am a moron, December 19, 2008
This review is from: Zoid Z-1000 Clip-On Tuner by Sabine
I just used this tuner for the first time and it's easy and fast and all that good stuff, and I'm pretty far from a trained musician. Actually I'm pretty far from a musician of any kind. I don't know about scales and arpeggios and whatnot but I do know that right out of the box, first stab at it, I tuned my bass guitar in about two minutes. It would've been much quicker but the bass was so horribly out of tune :)

So yeah this was exactly what I wanted in this type of product. I've never used any other kind of tuner but I can't imagine what could be improved.

Best tuner ever....I've tuned everything from an upright bass to an acoustic guitar to a mandolin with this thing and on everyone its been the fastest, easiest to read tuner I ever used, and I've used many....for electrics I prefer a stomp tuner...

Because there is no case supplied to protect this tuner, the ON/OFF button can get bumped and stay on. I am guessing that is what happened

Original Review
It's an OK tuner. It's light, easy to read and neat the way the display changes color as it get close to tuned.
On the downside, it's not cheap, it seems fragile and fiddly to use - and not very accurate. The swing of 'tuned' is too wide for me.
Another beef is that no protective case is supplied (or available), so keep the box it comes in, because this tuner will get crushed among your other music 'stuff'.
Unfortunately, I'm still looking for the perfect clip on tuner.

Bought from Amazon about a year ago and have only changed the battery once. I find it very easy to read the screen and have been able to use it on all my guitars and ukulele with no problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Portable and works well, February 21, 2011

I researched a few tuners before I bought this one. However, this one came highly recommended by my friends who have been playing guitar for years. They also owned this same model. They said this lasts for 5 years on the same battery.

I was surprised at how small it was when I got it. It's very portable and accurate. For a simple tuner, this is very satisfactory. My friend says this works on drums/trumpets as well, but I haven't tested. :)

This tuner is easy to use. I'm just learning to play so tuning is way over my head at this point. This tool makes tuning very simple.

I bought this tuner to replace my other Sabine tuner which i had for about ten years that i lost, it didn't break. n e ways i have been using this tuner for a month and it works better than my old one. I recently put the clip-on mode to the test when i had to tune inside a night club while a band was on stage and it worked perfectly. Defintly recommend this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, December 5, 2010

The Zoid is a pretty good tuner for the money. I use it on my upright bass and sometimes my electrics. I clip it to the bridge and tune up. It clips on and off instantly. It is accurate. It is very small and easy to carry around. The zoid fits in a pocket on my bass case so there is no hassle of setting up or tearing down. The LCD screen turns green when the string is in tune.
This is my 2nd one. The first got knocked off the headstock of my Fender bass and fell on concrete and stopped working. I liked it so much got another one. The one thing I like in particular is that it tunes a bass well even using open strings. Sometime tuners can be finicky about this.
