OK....it is kind of expensive for cooking rice, but it does cook rice perfectly every time. I hooked it up to a KILL A WATT measuring device and it takes 3 cents to cook a batch of rice. GABA mode produces Ultra Healthy brown rice - I use this mode nearly every time. I also use it to cook other grains including quinoa, kumut, spelt, wheat, wild rice, barley.......... Typically I cook a combination of all these grains. I also sprout grains and cook them in this cooker.
