I have had this model for over a year and I have never been disappointed. This model has a quick cooking feature which I use a lot, it is so convenient, it cooks the rice quickly and beautifully and beeps to let you know when it is done. When the rice finishes cooking the machine turns itself to the warming mode and simply keeps the rice warm and ready to serve. I finally have the perfect rice which most restaraunts can not hold a candle to.
I like jasmine, sticky and plain white rice and they all cook great in here, I have also cooked rice for sushi and made puerto rican arroz con gandules in here, all were done perfect!

I had never used the "fuzzy logic" style rice cooker before. I've owned a classic Zoji rice cooker, the one button style with absolutely no trouble. I decided finally to upgrade to a 10 cup and Zoji impressed me again! This is a great rice cooker that makes it virtually impossible to screw up rice. I thought having an LCD would be pointless, but the count down timer makes it easy to judge just how long I've got till the rice is done. I really like it, I highly recommend!

We have been eating rice almost daily. I decided to buy a Zojirushi when my 3 years-old Aroma rice cooker started to smell really bad after I cooked porridge once. Besides, I have always envy the rice I have had in those japanese restraunts and wondered why my own rice cooker just can't make it right. I decided to get this model because it is not too expensive, although it doesn't have that many features. ... I tried white rice and porridge. They all turned out perfect. Most amazing thing is it didn't leave any mess on the inner lid as my old Aroma rice cooker did everytime. I'm very happy with this product. I will not buy any other brands no matter how inexpensive they are.

A friend of mine bought this unit for me as a wedding gift about three years ago. My wife and I used it about three times a week for about a year. My wife left but I kept the rice cooker. I have been using it about once a week ever since. I love this thing much more than I ever loved my wife. It's perfect. You simply toss in some rice and water at about a 1:2 ratio, hit one button, come back when you feel like it, and bam perfect rice. I have made as little as 1/2 of rice and as much as 4 cups of rice at one time. Sometimes I mess up and put too much water in the mix. But it doesn't matter it always comes out perfect. I have only cleaned this thing twice. It was really easy to clean too. After all this time it still doesn't stink. Don't waste your time purchasing something else. Just buy the Zojirushi.

Even if you don't think you need it, get it. It will change your life.

First, 10 cups do not refer to 10 amercian cups, they are 10 Japanese cups, so this is really only 7.5 American cups.

Second, no matter how much rice you think you can eat, you will eat more once you have this machine. This size rice cooker is not too big for you. I make enough to eat at dinner and then leftovers for either rice pudding, rice salad, or fried rice.

This makes perfect rice every time. Even the brown rice is tasty and has an appealing texture.

If you can't cook, you will really appreciate this machine. If you can cook, you will still appreciate it. No more wondering what side dish you will make with dinner. You can cook the rice earlier in the day and it will hold it at the ideal temperature.

This is extremely easy to use and has very consistent results. I cannot imagine needing the more expensive model as I cannot envision tastier rice.

One caveat-- I recommend getting The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook by Beth Hensperger when you get your machine. She will tell you how to cook all sorts of grains in there and provides tasty recipes so you can make the most of your new appliance. The manual that comes with the Zojirushi is leaves a little to be desired.

This is exactly what I was hoping for: simple directions and clear controls. The rice is perfect every time and will hold for several hours (I haven't held for more than four, but the rice was moist and nicely firm). I use it mostly for brown rice, but basmati, jasmine and white have been equally good.

The thing is big on the counter, but we've been using it 2 or 3 times a week. Easy clean up. Worth the price.

The reviewer that mentions changing the octave of the melody must have a different model. This one doesn't any options like that and doesn't play a melody. The settings are limited to the kind of rice you are making and the time you wish to wait before starting the rice.

The rice this machine makes is perfect. The best part about this machine is that all you have to do is throw in the rice and water and push a button. Then come back whenever you are ready for it. When it finishes cooking it automatically goes into warming mode. This way I can start the rice far ahead of time, and not have to watch it or try to coordinate the time it finishes with the time the main course finishes.

I usually make one cup of rice at a time and it works fine for that. I've seen comments that some other rice makers do not work well with small quantities of rice.

The rice does not burn or stick to the pot. Cleanup is very easy. You can tell the nonstick coating on the pot is high quality stuff that should hold up with time. The serving utensil they provide looks pretty strange, but it works perfectly for rice.

I live alone, in a small apartment, but I love rice.

I originally had a cheap, 3 cup, retail brand rice cooker, and absolutely hated all the rice it cooked, it really did a horrible job, burning and creating a huge mess to clean.

This Zojirushi rice maker is a total flip to the other side of the coin.

It has a non-stick pan, and a wonderfully sealed lid so that there is no splatter. The programmable interface is fantastic for me, because I can set it at night, wake up to it's wonderfully loud beeps, eat my fresh breakfast, set it on extended keep warm, and when I come home for the evening, I still have wonderfully fresh rice to have with dinner.

you would actually be amazed at how fresh 10 hour old rice can really be. Which is a good thing too, because this cooker can only cook 2 cups as the smallest amount; which is a little more than I can usually eat in a day. On the other hand, having all 10 cups available to fill up the cooker with is FANTASTIC for those weekend sushi days, or enjoying a large dinner with friends and family.

This cooker also has a retractable cord, and handle, which makes it a snap to just toss into the closet when not in use.

I highly recommend this product for anyone that eats enough rice to want that high quality taste and texture that they get at a restaurant, with all the conviniences of a modern appliance.

We actually bought this rice cooker at our local Ranch 99 store and it was on sale for $90.

I have only used it twice so far. Once to make rice for a party of 8 and another time to make porridge.

I'm very impressed with the product. Making porridge is such a pain to watch and time but with this rice cooker I just turned it on and forgot it. The regular rice I cooked turned out fine and no sticking to the sides of the pot! Wow!!

This is the Rolls Royce of rice cookers. Excitement is what you'll feel when you open this box. Anybody who intends to eat healthy would love this for gift! Big for families, but cooks half a cup of rice for a single serving just as well. Too many benefits to this wonderful machine. Most of all, easy to clean. It's a little overpriced, but once you get over that life becomes easier, especially if you want to save money. Rice comes out perfect every time. The timer on it lets you know precisely when it going to be done. This is convenient to let you know when to start putting teriayaki strips on the grill, or cooking chicken so they come off at the same time. It fun to experiment with various settings...I prefer the Japanese rice soft setting. Keeps rice hot for days. Don't waste your time shopping all the "asian stores"...they all cost the same there or more. You know if you get yours from Amazon..it hasn't been sitting on a retail shelf of a year.
